Hi there. I have recently come out to my parents about 7 months ago now. so yes I am gay. I had a relationship not long after this for about three months. After I split up with this person I developed a deep thought , this has been getting deeper since that point. I believe that EVERYTHING is fake or generated by a higher dimension. I HATE it. It eats me up everyday. I even question whether I was actually born , and my whole life is an experiment. What do i do!!? please help me. X

Dear Jordy, please see a therapist as soon as you can get an appointment. He or she will help with the guilt you feel and the depression that has come with all this. You never said your age or how your parents took the news, but I would think those reactions have helped bring on these problems. You need some antidepressants and a psychiatrist to prescribe them and several visits to a therapist who will help you cope. Best of luck.

The problem with memory and thought is that if you tell your brain enough times that something is true, it will believe it. It sounds like you are a paranoid schizophrenic in the making and an illness such as this is triggered by stress or some other major incident in your life. Coming out to your parents could have been enough. If you've been thinking like this since you broke up with your significant other then you might have been brainwashed? In any case I would tell yourself everything is alright and use logic an reasoning to explain the right answer. The fact that you could have never have been born is impossible because in the field of medicine we do not even know how cells develop let alone mature in the womb of a mother. Commen sense, logic, and good reasoning will go a long way, I guarentee it.

There is a reason and explanation for everything and if you can't come up with one then it's probably not true.

First see a medical doctor. Often paranoid symptoms come from an undiagnosed medical condition. Also make sure to stop using any drugs, alcohol, or herbal supplements that can trigger such feelings. Some men's "mega man" formulas contain stimulants that can induce a paranoid state. If symptoms continue, then seek help form a psychiatrist. You have been through alot and may need some meds and counseling support to set you on the road to good health. Good Luck.

You could have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. You can check out your symptoms by reading pamphlets on the subject, which you can find at any pharmacy. Also, see a doctor/therapist ASAP and get yourself properly diagnosed.

The stress from ended relationships is one of the most common triggers for OCD, which is a chemical imbalance in the brain.

There also are excellent self-help books available. The one I used during my recovery is:

The OCD Workbook.

Best wishes, you can absolutely overcome this condition with proper therapy. I did.

See a psychologist or mental health counselor. Maybe it's depression. It's one thing to be bothered by an intrusive thought once in a while. You can't shut it off. I bet your very sensitive and intelligent but you need to talk to the right people. I even bet the thought is hard to verbally articulate.

I have struggled with one also. I saw a psychologist or mental health counselor & take medication.

You should seek counseling... you sound as though you could be paranoid, and the only way to cure this is to seek help from someone certified to treat mental illness.
A psychologist could probably work with you on these issues and get you to one hundred, or something very close, percent normal.
That is, they could help you identify why you feel these things and resolve the issues causing them.
