I have a 2001 Nissan Frontier. It has a manual transmission. Does anyone know where the dipstick is or how to add fluid w/out dropping the transmission?

Manual trans DOES NOT have a dipstick. there is a fill plug on the left side or the trans about half way up from the bottom. You pull the plug. If fluid drains out, you are full. If no fluid drain, you need to add fluid

Manual transmissions have no visible dipstick.
There is a fluid filling access located on the lateral external side of the transmission box. It needs an Allen key, and the screw itself is half moon shaped inside and indicates the level of fluid that has to be normally FLUSH with the hole.
Fill up until it starts spilling.

Drain plug on the bottom fill plug on the drivers side fill to the point of over flowing put the fill plug back in. Not rear end grease Manual transmission oil 85/90 wt GL-4 oil only. Rear end grease will cause shifting problems when cold. Emergency you could use ATF dextron and hear lots of gear noise. ATF makes a good flush if what you take out smells of sulfur Or rear end grease.
