Heres an idea. Instead of putting more food in your mouth and swallowing it. Try distracting yourself by doing some work or something.

I had the same problem. We would have what we called "Fun Friday", an excuse to eat cookies and other snacks, go to Starbucks get a million calorie drink to wash it all down with. Not to mention another co-worker ALWAYS had cookies right outside her office door! It was hard to avoid, it was every where! And with birthdays every month, there was always a cake. Try eating a bigger breakfast. Bring in apples, slice them before you leave home so they're easy to pop into your mouth, carrot sticks are yummy too! Without the ranch, lol! Or bring celery sticks with peanut butter, ants on a log, remember those?

Right, there's nothing wrong with eating sweet things as long as you do so in moderation-not too much. Best thing to do is to pack some healthy snacks in the morning like chop up a mango or blueberries or something as these are still sweet but very healthy! And nuts...and even those new crisps by walkers that are baked so very low fat. Good Luck! :-D

The best is to not have the unhealthy stuff with you so you are not tempted. Dont even buy it at the grocrey store. If you are hungrary get unsalted popcorn, those 100 calorie packs, grapes and baby carrots. And try putting a post-it on your change purse that says somrthing like "When you eat rubbish you feel like rubbish"or something so when getting a dollar for the vending machine you will see it.

Bring stuff to snack on! And pack your lunch, don't buy, and when you do make your lunch, do it when you aren't hungry, so you'll have better control of what you make. And don't bring cash with you to work, that way, if you are craving something, you won't be able to buy it, and you'll start snacking on your stuff. If you want sugar, eat fruit, which has plenty natural sugars in it. If you're hungry, eat some vegetables in a non-fat ranch dip or something.
Good luck!

i know what you mean. i was employed at a sonography office over the summer, and man did those ladies love their pretzels/peanut butter/snickers/candy/etc. i am not usually exposed to that stuff, so i pretty much went nuts! i found it helped to bring healthy snacks with me, like nuts (watch it though! high in calories, so it's easy to go overboard. i love almonds and pistachios but a handfull is my limit), apples, bananas, vegetables, edamame, luna bars, etc. when i got the munchies i grabbed something from my purse and i was good, though sometimes the crud around me was still tempting. at that point, i grabbed some chewing gum and got myself preoccupied. also, keep yourself hydrated all day with water and you'll feel fuller.

I have the same problem. I keep almonds and sunflower seeds in my desk. And gum. I have non-fat yogurt in the fridge.... and if I get REALLY desperate asI watch a chocolate cupcake with butter cream frosting (just happened) I have sugar-free chocolate and root beer flavored hard candies. It's not the same, but it helps. I will end up having a cupcake. ONE cupcake as opposed to my old lack of restraint where I'd talk one of the girls who's dieting to give me hers as well.

Take healthy snacks in for you, that you like. I love to snack on pretzels, oranges and popcorn ( the light variety). Then limit yourself to one treat a week ( wether bought or from a co-worker). Just be firm and polite when declining the offer.

make yourself a salad or pasta dish to take to work in an airtight container so you dont have to go to the canteen
but if I was your weight I would not worry
There is an age when your young that you could eat anything and not put on weight but once you start sitting around not walking much the weight goes on

i am sure that you know ALL the healthy snacks already, the problem is gettng you to the eat them ... i like a good nectarine during the day personally, or bananas, pears, apples etc .. and some mixed nuts
or you could try dried fruit - apricots, prunes, that sort of thing

i can totally relate. first you need to bring stuff you can munch on if you're hungry that's healthy- cut up fruits and veggies, sugar free candy whatever- also- drink more water or tea, and make sure to brush your teeth after breakfast and lunch. if you've just brushed your teeth the idea of eating snacks is much less appealing...next you need to find a different place to walk around to if you're bored- or something else to do all together. boredom brings bad habits. create good habits instead...
