Depends entirely on which state/country you're in.

Really. Tickets for such a thing can range HUNDREDS of dollars from state to state. Not to mention the "speeds over" cut-offs for reckless. Some states have 15mph over as reckless. Without more info, we can't even begin to advise you.

If you go to court remember that a lame excuse brings a stern fine.

You will have to pay court costs
If this is your first offense do the following:

If you say "your honor, there is no excuse for speeding and I wouldnt offer one up to this honorable court and worse yet tarnish the fine reputation of the ticketing officer.
I have realized I was speeding and learned my lesson your honor" The judge will be merciful.

Hopefully he will "Strike the ticket from the insurance" notification files and levy a small fine.

Good Luck

Its not massively over the limit therefore I would make an educatd guess at 3 points and £60 fine.

Whatever the fine, which will probably be about the cost of a very good night out, the points are the killer. Extra insurance, plus you will be possibly 3 nearer the maximum12. In the long run, very expensive.

Possibility of a fine and 6 Penalty points, but in your case you will be band as well as the fine , as your may be over the penalty point threshold of 12. Over 12 you are automatically band.

3 points on your licence and a £60 pound fine.. unless you go over the 12 point limit.. which will automatically mean that you loose your licence for a period of time.

That is over 10% over the speed limit. The law could throw the book at you.

seriously, you will get minimum £60.00 fine 3 points on your licence, maximum if you go to court and plead your case you will be issued by what your disposable income is. and still get 3 points, if you already have 9 points its bye bye licence, if you drive for a living then tell you boss now, he could help and plead with you that he needs you to keep driving and you may MAY get away with having a licence with 12 points and still be able to drive, but if you get caught again you go straight to prison do not pass go, do not collect points, just sit there for minimum 12 months

I bet you are asking whether you are going to jail, right? Well you are lucky..no you are not going to jail unless you have outstanding warrants. For you to go to jail you had to of been going at least 80 in a 60 mph zone which constitutes wreckless driving (Going 20 mph over)...you will in the other hand be getting a hefty priced ticket.
