Maybe your cat doesn't like the tune you are playing, even if it enjoys the prawns.

Even thought cats get treated like royalty at houses, their cat instincts still tell them that they can catch birds and mice. Maybe even sometimes they would bring in their catch into their house. So don't think there is anything wrong it's just their instincts.
Hope this helps!

Domesticated cats still have the instinct to hunt. She may not eat the birds and mice, she may just hunt them for fun!
Occasionally my cat catches a mouse but she wont eat it, she just plays with it until she gets bored.

Its just natural for cats to hunt for mice, birds and lizards. You should be glad your cat does that. That means she's absolutely normal. We once had a cat that loved to stay in the kitchen store with mice....grrr.....it was really annoying intsead of getting rid of the mice. I hope this is not cruel but we had to dispose of (we sent her packing not kill) the cat she was of no use.

For a cat, hunting is natural no matter how much food you leave out for her. When they're not laying around, her instinct tells her to go hunt. When she sees movement that looks like small prey or hears noise that sounds like it, her mind says "catch it." You can discourage her, but it is literally impossible to break her of the habit of hunting.

Yeah, like these guys are saying, it's just their instinct; it's a chase-and-catch kind of thing. You'll notice them at home with an insect or if you drag a piece of string along the floor - they can't help themselves, they have to try and catch it! Apparently the other reason they bring these things home is because they are bringing "gifts" home for you. Isn't that nice?! (Eeew!)

because cats are huinters by instinct. try using a liberator collar or a saftey collar that has a bell on that has quick release buckles on or some elastic so if the cat gets caught up it doesn't get tangled and strangled. they make it impossible for them to hunt. by the way a cat cannot eat a tune it is tuna that they eat.

It's the hunting instinct, the cat is having fun and getting exercise, and it thinks it is providing food or a gift for YOU. Praise the cat, then get rid of the carcass.

One of my cats does that too. It's just in their nature to hunt. You should see how excited she gets just looking out the window at the birds! It's disgusting but somewhat unavoidable.

hunting is a natural instinct, you cant stop it no matter what you try and do. if your cat leaves the bird/mouse at your door etc then its leaving you a present because you feed it, so it feels it should do the same for you.
