I don't know why it would be more or less prophetic than any other place. there are some people who 'claim' to have all the answers, but to be honest, only God knows the answers and we can only speculate at best, the times/events are anything prophetic or not.
tho, there may be some who can tell.... but I'm pretty sure that the USA wasnt mentioned in any of the end times prophecies by name

Americans have a narrow view of the world. I was born here and had to work at getting beyond this. It is why the "ugly American" simply yells louder in English to people who don't speak English.
Though the USA does figure in prophecy as a world power, it is not the be all and end all. Strangely enough, from space, one can not tell the difference between one country and another. Many Americans can't find the US on a regular map anyway.
For the end of this wicked system of things, the prophecies are for the entire world and not just one small part.

Many prophecy interpreters have studied various forms of prophecy from biblical, to nostradamus, to incan, and found many references that appear to plainly refer to America in various ways. As such, many people will link major events to these prophecies and, as such, make it seem like a big deal if something big happens in america.
Also, with world politics the way they are, there are a lot of people outside america that think america is the big evil, and would love to see us go away, so anything the weakens america tends to get viewed as making bad people stronger.
In some ways, we are, at least in thought, considered the heroes of the world. We don't always live up to that, but we still seem to carry that image.

Of course not! And since when it is more prophetic if a disaster happens in the United States? It is probably just the media who is making you think in this way, but America is supposably the only real superpower with an extraordinary amount of wealth on the Earth today, and therefore news focuses on America a great deal more than other nations, it is sad but true in my opinion.

Actually it is hard to place America in the end time prophesies at all. In fact for the prophesies to be fulfilled America must lose her position as the world economic and strategic power.
Two-Thirds of America's money is sitting in the banks of enemies we know and don't know. They can take us down overnight.
So as I said America is not the focus of the end times that belongs to Israel God chosen.
The stage is set for the Isaiah 17 and Ezekiel 38-39 war. Israel is surrounded on all sides by people that want her dead. As soon as Syria and Iran attack Which could be any day now.
So no America has nothing to do with it.
Go in the rapture and you won't have a problem. All you have to do is say yes to Jesus.

I think the reason it is seen that way is because a lot of people believe America is pretty much modern Babylon. Because of this, it is believed that America is going to be torn apart by the time the world ends (made an example of).
Personally. I don't see it as more or less prophetic. It's just hard to watch people suffer in your back yard. Not at all that it is ever easy to watch people suffer. But hey, when they're YOUR people it always cuts deeper. In the Bible the awful things that happened always brought people back to God, the same is true in America. When awful things happen that shakes us, people will turn to God, because of fear, comfort and to be rescued.
Either way what is or isn't prophetic matters very little as long as people turn to God for their answers. Let Him straighten them out.
Also for the record I will say, I LOVE America. It is my home, and it has been faithful to me as a home. I would not speak ill of my country, or my countrymen.

That is related to the ethocentrism that most modern day americans have regarding their country, which is similar to that of the citizens of ancient Rome, if it didn't happen there it wasn't even worth of counting. Today is similar, look at hollywood movies, any hollywood movie describing all sort of events related to the end-times, from the moon turning red, to the antichrist coming, or prophecies, etc. occur in American cities, with heroes from the human race combatting those forces that go from Arnold Schwarzenneger in his last days to Demi More.
The truth of the matter is that regarding the last days the one voice I consider trustworthy is that of jesus whp said: "And of that day nobody knows the hour of the day, only the father in heaven" so "keep your lamps lit".
Europe went through a similar phase during the late middle ages up untill the imperialism era

No. Israel is the main country in prophecy, followed by Russia, China, Iran, and Saudia Arabia. Keep an eye on Israel.
The disasters are 'signs of the end times.' It doesn't matter where they take place.

No the media just likes to add fuel to the fire and make things seem so much more catastrophic here than they really are.. Like that bridge collapse... they first started saying ohh 50 believed dead... then they changed it to 20 then to 4 finally it ended up at 13. Just goes to show you what the media does to people.
