Because they're gullible!
It seems likely that humans have evolved to be religious. Back when we were just cave men hunting mastadons for food and so on, religion could have been an excellent device for serving the dual purposes of explaining a complex and mysterious universe and keeping people working together to achieve common goals. If this is true, and religion has been around for long enough, it is reasonable to assume that people would have evolved so that their brains would be more attuned towards religion. In the modern world, some of us have strong enough wills to understand the truth, while some of us still allow these primitive instincts to take over.

As a Pagan I am not a Christian God believer, but what makes you "think" there isn't a God or Goddess. You assume you know the "truth" just as Christians know their religion is the "true" religion. None of us has the answer and what does it hurt to believe in what we believe? I understand that Christianity are very pushy with their beliefs and if they could they would take over the world, but we know that can't/won't happen since there are other religions.
Your beliefs end where mine begin, so I'm not giving you the right to make up my mind for me. That is very egotistical of you and it makes you sound like a "Christian" in your I'm right, you are wrong rhetoric.
Can't we agree to disagree and just good friends?
Oh, is it alright if I'm gay?

It can be neither proven nor disproven that there is a God. Until I see incontrovertible evidence, I believe in God, although I don't think he's an old man with a beard sitting up in heaven or something like that. As to why I believe, to me, it's simply logical that there is a God. If it works for you not to believe that there's a God, then that's your privilege, of course. You go your way, and I'll go mine, and we'll agree to disagree :-)

The same holds true for atheists. Nobody can prove it's existence or nonexistence. Atheists and Theists are both people of faith. For those of us who are emotionally mature and responsible, it is difficult to see why they want to believe in such a magical thing. Consider this-
The cause of trust in religious belief.
The one true god of all religions is the perfect FATHER. Heaven is the perfect childhood with no responsibilities. As animals it is instinctive to trust and obey our parents, especially fathers. Religious leaders are taking advantage of this instinct to get their immature followers to obey without question.

Some people think threre is a God because of personal experiences, some because of what they grew up with and some because they see others believing. Some people think there is no God because of science and because of what they grew up with or what others told them.

We will never know the correct answer.
Christians say there is a God. Atheists say there isn't. You have to decide which one is true.
I see the questioner gives thumbs down to everyone.

It is your opinion, that tells you there is no god; that is fine for you in your life. That opinion is based on your experiences in this life, it however; does not and will not determine how others freely think about God.

I wonder the same thing myself.
There is absolutley zero proof.
They talk about "faith" but faith in what some guys who wrote some book claimed that "god" talked to them. If anyone said that now they would be put in a mental hospital.
I don't know why people need to be controlled but they do.

Why do people ask dumb questions about people with faith in God as if they are going to change their minds about Him?
