For it to happen they will first need to stop the fighting and talk peace.
Then Israel will need to give up some of the land they have at the moment so it can be used in the creation of a separate and totally independent Palestinian country.
The Palestinians will have to accept that Israel has a right to exist as a nation-albeit a smaller one than it is now.
They will have to agree on some way of sharing the city of Jerusalem which is very important spiritually to both Judaism and Islam.
Then they will have to get past decades of mutual hatred and distrust and blame, and find a way to forgive each other for all the death and suffering the conflict has caused to both races.
If all that happens maybe the 2 countries will be able to co-exist side by side, though they will probably never be friends.
Now will all that ever happen?I hope so but I doubt any of it will happen in my lifetime and I'm fairly young-25.

I believe that it can be peace between the tow people, if there will be a courage's Palestinian leader like Sadat (the late Egyptian president that made peace with Israel on 1979).
It is vital for the Palestinians to accept the right to exist and the security of Israel in defensible borders and to dismiss their condition to return millions of "Palestinians refugees" into ISRAEL the rest of issues are negotiable.

We who are Jews believe that when the Messiah comes, there will be peace for all, so sooner or later Israel and Palestine will make peace. We just may need a little help to get it done :-)

If it happens it will be just for a while...it will never remain forever....then at the end, they will fight again....because, both of them believes in their rights....Palestinians have many issues that no one cares about...like the refugees...when Israeli created their country...there were people living there...and they were forced to become refugees.....so there are millions of Palestinian refugees all around the world....more than 3 million of them still living in miserable conditions in refugee camps.......also, another issue is Jerusalem....it was their capital before, and they want it back...that's what Israeli will never accept......
If these major things solve then there will be some hope, but they don't seem to be solved anyhow...

no. It is an irrational hate that makes Arab world keep trying to destroy Israel. Israel as a state has no choice, but to defend itself. BTW, Palestine is a part of Syria, but Syria has no desire to deal with these trouble makers. So they dumped them on Israel.
