The Holy Spirit of God is alive and well and working in the hearts of people today. He is continually revealing to every person, the love of God and is working to bring all people into a right relationship with God the Father.

When a person comes to the end of their days on this earth having rejected the working of the Holy Spirit of God and refused to believe on the Son of God, Jesus Christ for their Salvation, the door is closed. There no longer remains any opportunity to receive forgiveness for Sin. That is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit - Counting the work of the Holy Spirit of God as an unimportant thing.

Jesus said you can say anything you want to about Him and even about the Father and still be forgiven of Sin if you seek forgiveness before you die, but blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

Notice I use the word Sin with a capital "S" and not sins with a lower case "s" and in plural form. There is a difference and it is important to understand the difference. We are ALL born separated from God by Sin. That is the Sin that we inherit through birth with a human, Sinful spirit. The word sins refers to the acts of disobedience we commit toward God as a result of Sin. The lower case sins do not separate us from God, but Sin does. We must be born again. This refers to the re-birth of our spirit when the Holy Spirit of God comes and takes up residence in our hearts, thus the Sin nature we were born with is done away with and we become a new creation in God's sight. Sin no longer separates us from God. If one does not accept this offer of a new beginning from God the Father, through His Holy Spirit, by way of His Son's sacrifice, that constitutes blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

Sin must be dealt with or we are without hope.

If when you do something you know is wrong in God's eyes and you feel the slightest guilt for having done it, you have not committed blasphemy and there is still hope for you.

This is blasphemy

(Hebrews 10:26) 26 For if we practice sin willfully after having received the accurate knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice for sins left. . .

BLASPHEMY

This is the anglicized form of the Greek word bla‧sphe‧mi′a. The Greek term basically means injurious, defamatory, or abusive speech and was used with reference to such speech whether directed against God or against humans. (Compare Re 16:11; Mt 27:39.) The English word “blasphemy,” however, is usually restricted to irreverent or abusive speech against God and sacred things. It is thus the antithesis of words of worship directed to the Divine Being.—See ABUSIVE SPEECH.

In view of the name Di‧a′bo‧los (meaning “Devil” or “Slanderer”) given to him, it is evident that the first one guilty of blasphemy was God’s original adversary. Though his speech to Eve in Eden was veiled and subtle, it, nevertheless, portrayed the Creator as untruthful. (Ge 3:1-5) Satan has been, therefore, the prime instigator of blasphemy from then till now.—Joh 8:44-49.

"blasphemy against the Holy Ghost" ....

"But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation: Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit. " (mark 3:29-30)

after knowing & partaking in the Holy Spirit, then turning your back in unbelief.

"And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness." (2 Thess.2:11-12)

Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is done by those who don't believe He is God.

It is the only unforgivable sin!

This is spoken of in Matt. 12. Essentially, it is ascribing the works of God to Satan. Giving Satan credit for God's miracles, through the Holy Spirit.
