I have found so much inconsistency psychologically leading to any "superior" entity, YET these religions command followings that reach into the BILLIONS ? Are people really that gullable, or doesn't truth matter ?

Bogey Lover - Am still soaking alot of things in myself. Written 17 books and taking a year off after writing for the last seven. I am on here for the truths of who people are as individuals in the world and examining even truths in myself.

People can be gullable. But I also think that people can be sad, confused and directionless. Life is hard and many cannot cope. They need something to believe in, a safety valve, a soft cushion. I'm not one of them. I think feeling that I can make a choice in what I do is more comforting. But, while I am impatient at times with religious types, I know they are fearful people. They are flawed and afraid in this weird and sometimes frightening world. So am I at times, but I try to use a different tool; logic.

Truth does matter, but it would seem that truth is subjective. One person's truth simply is not necessarily another's.

Take care. Thanks for asking such a good question.

Well it all depends on your opinion of truth. Believing in a superior entity is an opinion because as you know there is no concrete proof.

I have found that the emotionally immature are attracted to religion. They don't want the responsibility of independent thought. But most importantly they fear death. So the religious leaders capitalize on that by selling magic stories.

Its not so much as billions of individuals blindly accepting it. If there are a million people saying something is right then its like a chain reaction of people just blindly accepting it.
