In 7 years he's turned from a skeptical atheist to god fearing christian. I have done a lot of research on the so called apocalypse and most scholars agree that it happened a long time ago. How can I calm him down ?

Jesus said that even He doesn't know the hour or the day when He is coming back. But when He does come it will be like a thief in the night. Of course no one sits around their house waiting for a thief to arrive. No, you can't predict it so you go about your daily life.

But Jesus tells us to get ready for He is coming soon. Meaning that we need to prepare ourselves spiritually by reading His word, praying and witnessing to others. Those scholars are all wrong. The second coming of Christ has not occured yet. The first coming did happen already and He said in the Bible that He would return again for the Church, which are those who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Many things may happen that might seem like the last days but you shouldn't analyze these things because they really are just a waste of time. Jesus even said it Himself that He doesn't know only His Father knows. So that is evidence that no one in this world can predict His second coming. Some people sit around waiting for that "thief in the night" to arrive instead of getting ready and preparing themselvs for Jesus' arrival. You should live life like it's your last day but also plan for tomorrow.

I beg of you to accept Jesus in your life today if you haven't before it's too late. Those who don't will be thrown in the pit of fire along with satan in the end. It's wonderful that your father now knows that Jesus is the Way the Truth and the Light. Don't fall prey to what those scholars say. Don't you want to live in heaven with Jesus for all eternity? Remember "Father knows best".

Your dad is a smart man and you'd better listen to him. Most scholars do not agree that it happened a long time ago. When did the lamb lay down with the lion? The Jews didn't return to Israel until 1948. Your scholars are blind and they cannot see.

You can't. The rapture is a good excuse not to take responsibility for your own life. Just sit back and wait for the rapture.

Remember James Earl Watt, Reagan's Secretary of the Interior? His "reason" we should not worry about all the trees on earth being harvested is that Jesus would return before it mattered. Stock excuse!

Tell him if he's a God fearing Christian then there is nothing to worry about whether the "end" is near or not.

go with him for a chat with the family doctor.. anti-anxiety meds might be very helpful for him. Extreme fear of the apocalypse sounds like a case of aging, to me.

Those scholars are agreeing on one of many views of Revelation. Another view is that it is to come.

Dude, the end has been near for such a long time that no one believes it will happen anymore.

But that's because there won't be an end in this lifetime, and our great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandchildren will never see it either.

Point out how many religions have falsely prophesied Armageddon, and been wrong about the dates...
