Just let him fill out on his own. As pitbulls age, they begin to fill out. Mine is only about a year and a half and he is already filling out. He weighs a good 75-80lbs right now as opposed to a mere 45-50lbs a couple of months ago. He was really lean. Some people even thought that he was not being fed b/c he was so skinny. But that dog could eat like a horse!! =) Also, if he is still young keep him on puppy food. I was told by a vet that its good that a dog be kept on puppy food until about 2 years of age. I have done this in the past with another apbt and he lived to be a healthy 13 years old! Good luck with you pitbull! They are the most loving dogs when raised right!
And Private P or whatever the heck your name is....You're an effing MORON! And your stupidity should be banned from answering people that want help! Michael Vick is a horrible man for what he did but that is NOT the dogs fault! Why should the dogs be punished for being TAUGHT to be mean??? That's like going to school and ONLY learning how to murder someone for a living and then being executed for doing so!! Experience the loving nature of pitbulls RAISED THE RIGHT WAY first hand before you jump off the deep end! I bet you'll fall in the love with the breed just as I have with pitbulls AND wolfdogs!

Had to look up the flirt pole --- whippet people use a lunge whip.. but BE VERY carefull- keep it low leaping for it can cause an injury and taking it on a too twisty path can cause sprains & strains.
Fnn game - and muscle wil come with excersise of any type but also maturity ...

I would say be careful with trying to work him out. If he's too young or the work outs aren't appropriate for his body... it's only going to damage him. I agree with the other person. Let him get some age on him. In the meantime, make sure he's healthy and active. My pit didn't start filling out till she was about 2. That's when her chest started to widen, her shoulders become more defined, etc. You may also want to check out speciality organizations dedicated to pits and training. They could recommend exercises that wouldn't put undue stress on his joints.

How about some extra walks- a little cross-country or rock climbing (easy slope) will be good for both of you. My spaniel/lab got very toned after a summer of rock climbing and hiking in the Delaware Water Gap.

.how old is your pit bull?
.i dont think you should "try" to "put some muscles" on him...
.I have a 9 month pit and she is very very lean and has long legs. is bigger than her dad.
.pits might stay lean up till they reach two years or older. our last one had a very lean body type until he turned two and suddenly started to "fill out".
.its a natural process... just let it do its thing.
