What the hell kind of class is this for?????

From a medical standpoint, it would eventually, if not immediately, cause damage to the leg including, but not limited to patellar fracture, dislocation, hip dislocation, tibia and/or fibula fracture...

From a physics standpoint, the weight would be distributed down the legs of the "A" and the force would be transferred to the floor through the foot and hip. It would still hurt.

From how high up is the 8 pound weight dropped? Drop it from high enough, and I guarantee you the knee will be destroyed.

If it was dropped from just an inch or so, it would still be very uncomfortable, especially if it kept landing right on the patella (kneecap). You'd have to tension your kneecap just so each time to absorb the force of the blow, and as soon as you started getting tired, the blows would start jerking the kneecap this way or that, and start doing damage. But for a short period of time (just a few blows), it would probably be OK.

Are you taking a class to learn hit-man tactics for the mob or something? Now they teach braking kneecaps and torture in school, what is the world coming to?
