No, Hopefully he did it because he is going to drive the #5 car with a pink and white paint scheme with PAMPERS DIAPERS ON IT. So his RED NECK fans can support him and their kids by buying diapers instead of spending their money on rotten tasting beer!!!!!!!

It wasn't Dale Earnhardt's call, it was car owner, Rick Hendrick who made the call. In NASCAR, it is the car owner, not the driver, who procures any sponsorships.
Budweiser used to be a sponsor for Rick Hendrick. When Dale Sr. was putting together the team for Dale, Jr, Budweiser dropped Hendrick like a hot potato to go to DEI. There were lots of hard feelings over the deal. Rick Hendrick doesn't want them back. So he didn't bother going through the trouble negotiating with DEI for the sponsorship.
Also, the they feel that Dale Earnhardt Jr could appeal to a larger fan base if they use a non-alcoholic sponsor. If you notice, very few of the Dale Earnhardt die-cast cars have the Budweiser logo.
As for Budweiser being a sin, this is all a matter of opinion. The Catholic religion does not consider this a sin.

Okay, first off, since when is drinking a sin? Do you enjoy just making up your own rules? Budweiser and Rick Hendrick enjoyed many years together as sponsor of the 25 car many years ago. Earnhardt must be a big sinner with all the beer he admits to drinking. Get a clue.

First of all, Jr nor Hendrick dumped Bud. Jr wanted to go to Hendrick and Hendrick did not need anymore sponsors. End of story. They parted ways on a Good note and Bud would be glad to sponsor Jr again if the opportunity presented it self in the future!!!
And, if drinking were a sin, then how come Jesus and his disciples drank wine?
BTW-- Thanks for the 2 points. I appreciate them!!

If Hendrick thought drinking was a sin, why would he let his drivers participate in the Bud Pole Award?

No, Rick Hendrick decided to not carry it over. And no Rick Hendrick did not think that either. He's got Mountain Dew and Pepsi.

Word has it that Jr is going to check into the # 81. He's probably thinking of his fans like the ones with tattoo's that will just have to add the #1 to it!
Nascar should step in and tell DEI , Look this is Jr's # it was HIS Grandfathers it's going with him!
Also the only sin related to beer is ...spilling it. Or is that alcohol abuse?

No. Jr had nothing to do with it. Budweiser has a contract with DEI as well as Jr. Yes, Hendrick is religious, is why.
I'll bet Jr drinks Coors.

well, since you're just raiding the board, ill excuse your ignorance of the sponsorship.
budweiser and DEI had a contract. Jr. is leaving DEI and can not take that sponsorship with him nor his #8 because Teresa owns the rights to it...
and I think you need to read the Bible a bit more closely if you think drinking is a sin...
