- Have you ever took a deep thought about this life, what it is, why are we here?
- Have you ever thought about the end of the human race as much as how it began
- Have you ever looked at this world, the history, the people, the civilizations, everything, and thought for one second, WHY?
- Do you find that this is all just a mistake, mere concidence and little chemistry.
- Have you ever thought why chemistry is... chemistry, where are those laws coming from.. why is there physics, where do those laws come from...
- How can we have feelings for others (objects according to chemistry), why do we have those feelings, why do we have right and wrong (most things people agree on)

Please answer nicely...

(NOTE: btw, i studied and learned the whole concept of evolution, so no need to state it again, i am not interested in "how" but "why")

The evolution theory has always seemed more far fetched then anything anyone says about God...

We can see some sort of evolution happening in sea to land creatures, or simply by watching a polywag become a frog or a butterfly from a caterpillar and cocoon, etc.,.

But then, I look at all the species and FAMILY types of animals.... chemical reactions created each TYPE from all over the world which underwent different forms of energy and weather, etc.,. yet allmost all are like those in other area's of the world...bears, cats, boars, cattle, fowl, etc.,.....especially the many types of Apes, etc.,. The latter are what people are claiming we evolved FROM...yet, why didn't ALL evolve since they evidently have the means to do so according to scientists.

Why, after so many thousands of years and more, haven't they evolved more then they are? If we didn't need teaching to be what we are, then why is it that the experimental teachings of individual types of monkeys doesn't somehow produce smarter monkeys from those that mate and give birth? This has been going on for a looooong time...surely one offspring would have "evolved" a bit because their parent or parents had been taught many things? And their grandchildren, greats, etc... nothing much out of the ordinary.

But what gets me, are what you had brought up about emotions and talents: love and hate.... reasoning... .comforters... instinct... memory... problem solving, color recognition, etc.,.

and brain size growing to accomadate it all.

These things just do not compute. lol

Even when young enough to believe in all that as I studied in school and asked questions, it just didn't mesh enough to discount God...and I wasn't raised in a church going home... I discovered God on my own without help from them, lol

But, after all this time of technology leaps and scientific leaps, why is it we are not progressing very far on the origin of the earth or mankind?

Yet many would rather believe in all that than in God, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit, satan, etc.,

Peace be with you all :)

yes i have thought about these questions, and yes, most of the times i got how but not why. but what makes u think there needs to be a why?? just because we're used to thinking this way doesn't mean it's the right way.
-i don't think it's just a mistake and a little of chemistry..it's a LOT of chemistry and a little bit of co-incidence, which is bound to happen when there are incidents.
-why these laws are here? think it like this, it's because of the laws the universe is what it is today, if the laws of physics were different, the universe would have been different. and these laws doesn't have to come from anywhere, they just explain to us how the universe is operating.
-we have feelings for others because of the electronic pulses in our brain and nerves. we have right and wrong because of society, these right and wrong are created by people to continue their existence, and if u notice u'll see these rights and wrongs change.
-i can't predict the end of human race, and it's not a part of the "why" u want to know.

Sure I have. Life is, so far, underdefined. It has developed over time, in response to its environment, to the point that intelligence, self-awareness, abstract thought and memory have developed, enabling us to manipulate our environment, a considerable evolutionary advantage. Unfortunately, we don't completely understand just how our environment works, so we could easily wipe ourselves out if we aren't careful.

Our purpose is to survive and improve, to manage our environment to optimize the chances of our survival as a species. And although we have developed chemically moderated emotions to create supportive fealings toward each other on an individual level, this is merely an evolutionary tool. It has never been about the individual but the species. We all die as individual but live on in the next generation.

Our species has been around a tiny fraction of the age of the universe. Chances are our environment (or our understanding) will eventually change enough to make major changes in our genetic (or artificial) makeup necessary. WIll that be the end of humanity or merely a natural development in the chain of life? Maybe it isn't about the species either, but about the whole shebang. "Civilization" has been around for only a few millenia. We may decide to do something completely different. Don't hang on sentimentally to outdated concepts and artifacts.

All human things, love, hate, fear, right, wrong, beauty, are useful mechanisms for preserving order and continuity. They can also get in the way of radical development. We live in the world we find ourselves in until it becomes something else. Then we adapt or perish. So keep up with the changes, and keep an eye on the scammers who are only pretending to change.

We don't know why the universe works the way it does. Maybe it was "designed". Maybe it was one of the more successful iterations in a series. Maybe it's one of the worse ones and we don't now any better. But it is the one we find ourselves in and we'd best try to understand it, rather than pretend to tell it how it should work.

Anyone who tells you what our ultimate "purpose" is is running a scam. We've grown the tools to make "purpose" possible, so it's up to us to make one up. Not the big one, just some intermediate ones to keep us working together. Some of these purposes may prove to be impractical, but we'll be wiser for attempting them, and we'll be able to plan better "purposes" to work toward later. It can be scary, making it up as you go, but at least we can do it.

-Not really. In truth, I really don't care if I'm here for a reason or not.

-A little. Big exploding sun, or whatever...

-No.

-Just because I don't believe in God doesn't mean that I view life as a mistake--after all, for a mistake to happen you have to have a creator that did something wrong. And it certainly wasn't a LITTLE chemistry that created the universe, it was a LOT of chemistry and a LOT of physics and whatever else. Nor do I view it as a coincedence. It's just...something that happened.

-Doesn't concern me.

-We're animals. Just like wolves, humans like to gather and care for each other. You get your occasional 'lone wolves', or people who don't want to be with or around other people...but for the most part, humans like to have company. Our sense of right and wrong merely comes from our intelligence. As our species grew and gained more knowledge, we became aware that we needed structure in our society to live. Again with an animal comparison, monkeys have a sort of hierarchical system to keep structure within their group. Without it, there'd be chaos. So, being animals with a good amount of intelligence, we learned that it'd be best to have something to govern our people...and we learned how to keep people happy. No stealing, no killing, etc., because these things caused people grief.

1. We are born to reproduce.
2. We may evolve into other creatures, destroy ourselves, or be destroyed by something else (such as a major astronomical event).
3. Civilization itself probably sprung up from a need for people to live together because of the Ice Age.
4. If things hadn't have happened as they did, everything would be different and you would be asking why everything wasn't like THAT
5. The laws of chemistry come from quantum mechanics, a branch of physics; the laws of physics were once united in a grand unified field theory, currently still being explored
6. Feelings are the results of chemical processes in the brain.

"Why" is irrelevant. "Why" is a byproduct of human emotion, a "need" to know. The universe doesn't necessarily answer to "why".

most of your Q's are simply answered yourself.Islam is not wanted by a large majority of the worlds population. It is an outmoded 'mysogonistic belief system just like most other major religions.Any system that condones publicly hanging 16yo rape victims has either a few questions to answer or to be completely rejected by any civilised human. You can't come back at me by saying judaism and christianity are just as bad because plainly they are not and I am neither of those. This isn't a psychology Q anyway......try the chip on the shoulder page

hey,
first off, great question! I wil ltry to answer to my best ability-knowing that you are an expert in evolution makes it a little daunting!!
I have thought about the purpose of our being, and the reason for living. 2 main reasons come to mind-that of loving & caring, with people such as friends and family, and of having the undeniable want to know more, out never ending thirst for knowledge, and therfore power [depending on the circumstances] Life is different for different people-some people hate it, loath it, detest it so much that they end up ending it for themselves, for various reaons. Others [like myslef, for instance!!] live life as it should be- full of experience, love and intelligence [hopefully!]. However, that is how I State life should be. I think you may think different...am i wrong? Most probably. We have views on things that are beyond out intelligence, like asking someone if something is pefect-someone may say yes, others no.
your second question-The End of The Human Race. Well, i have no knowledge of evolution, but may the same thing happen all over again? Could it all just-START AGAIN? We begin as organsims, living o nthe beare minimum, but gradullay build up to become more materialistic, and to question more tbings as we go along? I think not. I believe that possibiliy, we would be MUCH more advanced, living off what our generation this day and age has left behind. It would take time, but i think that would what would happen. To start all over again [as i have thought many a time!] would almost be impossible-the state in which our earth is in now [like global warming, need i say more?!], it would take soooo long for the world to develop again that the earth would be torched by the time it had finished,
YES! To your 3rd qestion, YES! I have indeed, and many a time, HOW? as well. [although that is what you are not interested in, for us lower in knowledge of evolution i suppose that is what i must explain!] History especially. I wonder why we didn't/haven't evolved more quickly in our understanding of people, eachother, and what else out there as well. Civilizations, as well. What firey disputes would be extinguished! Racisms, Blackmail,Abbuse....It would all end .Maybe the world could live in peace? Who Knows.
For ur 4th question, when u say 'this is all just a mistake', i suppose u mean life in general? Life as a whole? Well, no, i have never thought that we are all accidents. I believe that some people have lives already formed, like a pefect circle, while others have lives all over the place [like me], living on a straight line, with turns and roundabouts all over the place. I think that coincidence is just an illusion, a word used to describe the unknown....how could something so yummy as chocolate be a coincident??? XD
ur 5th question is good, i wish i could come u pwith a good answer for it!!! I think that the 'Laws' of physics, chemistry and biology....are the laws of life, in effect. I personally have no religious belives, and am therefore subjected to belive whole-heartedly, and soley in Science, and belive that the laws of science[or life?] quite simply co-existed-in effect, made themselves. And to think-what would we do without science! So many people shun it, belive it is wrong-imagine one day all nitrogen left the world, and we would have no oxygen. I wonder what they would say then?
Gosh, my answer was so long, i don't think i've ever written that much for an answer. Thanks for asking such a good question!
xx

Yeah... Nice question... When I ask someone if he knows what the meaning of life is he says "to give another life"... but this becomes meaningless because that "other life" will have the same meaning and his "other life" will and so on and so on...
And my opinion is that we are just coincidence...
I think that it is chemistry like hormones that give us feelings to others... and if we didn't have right & wrong then how would we know what's right and what's wrong :) ...
But If you mean how do we know what's right and what's wrong then I've been asking myself the same question... Why is wearing clothes right? Because someone told us. Why does that someone think it's right?

Sure, I've thought about all of those things. Science, sociology, history, and pschology have given me satisfactory answers as to "how".

When it comes to the philosophical question of "why", I honestly don't feel the need to attach something philosophical to it all.

This doesn't mean I only think in terms of the "mundane", or that I can't find mystery or awe in my world. I just don't see it having much to do with the subject of origins.

All "Just is" rather than having deep design and planned purpose? Very possibly.

Feelings for others?
Brain chemistry, genes and memes.
Evolution as a function of groups as well as individuals...
so group enhancing behaviour (and feelings) becomes established as an advantage.

It now even appears that females are wired for pink!
