Whereas atheism, smoking, drug use, promiscuity and drinking all seem to be INVERSELY proportional to fatness.

Just an observation I've had. Is this only true where I live?

...and of course I'm speaking in generalities, there are always exceptions to the rule.

Actually, I know a couple of local atheists who are morbidly obese. I've lectured at the local freethinkers' meetings before, gatherings which are largely composed of atheists, and most of them aren't thin (then again, people of all beliefs and philosophies tend to experience a bit of "middle-age spread").

The most devout Christian I ever met, my mother, was very thin. She spent the vast majority of her time praying, and was not interested in any non-religious activities. She rarely left the house except to go to church and was extremely religious. She would occasionally practice fasting to the point that it was medically dangerous, so if she had weight issues, it was in the opposite direction, leaning toward anorexia.

I just started thinking about the anorexic people I've known, and they were pretty much all Christian. Then again, we Christians have got poster boys for obesity like Jerry Falwell, so it really varies, just as it does in any given population.

You're talking about fat like it's a bad thing.

I'm agnostic, and I'm not all that sure whether I'm fat or not.
