The KKK claim that they're doing everything in accord to the Bible and that they're "true Christians". What do you think of them? Is it true that they're following the Bible? If so, then what part of the Bible are they using to justify such hatred? Why?

Tell me what you think, but don't use any racist language or bigotry that is a direct attack to a group or individual.

cacianss, you misunderstood me. This i nothing to do with Muslims, nor is it an attack against Christians. I wanted to see if other Christians also saw them as a disgrace to Christianity. And if they didn't, I wanted to know what exactly made them think that what the KKK do is in anyway Christian.
And don't insult me by assuming I'm too ignorant to not know what happened at 9/11

Jesus said, "love your enemy." They evidently think the black person is their enemy so if they are Christian why are they not loving them.

Jesus is the Christ from where the word Christian came from.
What do they not understand about "love your neighbor as yourself" or "love your enemy" or "if you love Me, you will love one another."

KKK doesn't have a leg to stand on by calling themselves Christian. Christians can see right through them. As a great many people do; they do their evil in the name of God and God has nothing to do with their evil.

All people do this and blame it on a religion and God has no part in it and even tells them they are wrong.

The Bible speaks about hate... and Christians are supposed to hate. But take notice to how: (Psalm 97:10) . . .O YOU lovers of God, (Yahweh YHWH), (Jehovah Psalm 83:18 KJV), hate what is bad. He is guarding the souls of his loyal ones; Out of the hand of the wicked ones he delivers them.
(Amos 5:15) Hate what is bad, and love what is good, and give justice a place in the gate. It may be that God, Yahweh, Jehovah the God of armies will show favor to the remaining ones of Joseph.’
So, as a "True Christian", we are to hate what is bad, but not any individual group or person. We know that God himself will judge the nations with righteousness.
The Bible makes it clear that hating others for differences is bad. So, any group that promotes such a thinking could NOT be Christian. Note these scriptures:
(1 John 2:9-11) . . .9 He that says he is in the light and yet hates his brother is in the darkness up to right now. 10 He that loves his brother remains in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in his case. 11 But he that hates his brother is in the darkness and is walking in the darkness, and he does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
As such groups, not limited to the KKK, but any who have predjudice among others, CANNOT be True Christians.

If you hate someone, you have anger towards them and have not forgiven them. The Bible says that if a person cannot forgive others, God cannot forgive them of their sins. So, I am not sure how you can be a member of the KKK, hate people of other races and claim that you have forgiven them. Therefore, I don't see that a member of the KKK can claim God's love and acceptance, because they have not learned to love others.

Do I think God is honored by a bunch of men who hide themselves behind a mask and light up a cross with fire to point the way to salvation and spew hatred towards people, simply because of their genetic factors?

No. They are the ultimate in hypocrites.

Do you know that the original hypocrites (at least the ones in Jesus' day) were actors hiding behind a mask? And Jesus condemned hypocrites because they were something other than what they portrayed themselves to be.

They are religious extremists who think they're doing god's work, just as Hitler did (he identified himself as Catholic, you know).

MOST Christians do not support such behaviour, but they can't do anything about it because even the KKK is protected by the first amendment (freedom of speech).

It's the same with Muslims and the embarrassing Islamic extremists.

You have many answers to this, but I feel the need to say something also. My father grew up in the south. While he was racist, I never heard him speak of the KKK. I learned later in school what the organization was and did some further study.

The KKK is one of the most evil and cowardly groups that has ever existed. Under the cover of darkness and sheets they act in despicable ways. They are nothing short of a terrorist organization whose purpose is to destroy the civil rights of blacks, Jews, Roman Catholics and others who disagree with them. Their cowardly acts of cross burning, lynchings and such are one of the darkest moments in our history.

That they claim the name of our Lord, troubles my heart deeply. It is as MELicious said a sad reminder to Christians to be aware that many use our name for evil and terror.

Sadly, while there influence seems to have waned (though they are still much alive) they are being replaced by Neo-Nazi groups who are every bit as evil.

If Christians don't stand up to organizations like this, then we have lost our soul, in my opinion.

The KKK claim to be Christian, but they are not! I could claim to be a Corvette but would you believe that claim? I hope not. A Christian follows the teachings of Jesus and of the Apostles, all of whom were Jews, and the KKK is anti Jewish so how in the name of Jefferson Davis can they be Christian? As for their hatred it is bred like most of the members of their group, which is a good reason incest is illegal now.

short and the point:

the kkk are twisted in their reasoning, that they somehow are following the Bible.

I dont understand how a group that hates other races says that they are the "True Christians".

1 John 4:8 says that God is love. And Jesus mentioned that they everyone will know who his true followers are because of the love that they show.

I think the christians have as much responsibility to denounce them as the muslim community does to denounce and get rid of terrorism.

the difference bieng that christianity actually has done that, and do take steps to cut off the violence and hate speech of the kkk.

given america's freedom of speech this can be difficult. you can't fault the christians for that as most of them take the kkk as something that is disgracefull.

I haven't got the determination and self-deprecatory skill necessary for this task. But will hundreds of atheists pretend to be Christians supporting the KKK? That would so rock.

I'm Catholic Christian and I think the KKK is disturbing and hateful...they're using Christianity as a sort of scapegoat for their hate.
