Balanced diet simply means that your meal contains proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals etc in required amounts. If you are certain that your meals are nutricious enough, there is no need to take supplements. The body requires only a small amount of these which you can get from fruits and veges. Once this amount have been met, even if you take a supplement, it will be a waste because most of them will be eliminated.
So, i would personaly advise you to balance you diet and dont bother about all those artificial things. They have their own disadvantages as well. They have preservatives and staff which are not that good for your body.
On a busy day, you can just grab a glass of milk. You are sure that you have all the vitamins and minerals! So, all those supplement are not that neccessary, except in a critical stage.

The simple answer is "no". If you eat a varied diet of fresh produce, grown (or grown up) in a natural way with no additives, growth hormones or stresses and drink lots of clean untreated water, then it should be possible for you to get all the vitamins and minerals your body needs from the food itself. You would also need to lead an active life and get lots of fresh air and sunshine to enable your body to process the food to it's full benefit.
In reality however, we cannot all afford to buy organic free range produce and do not all have the time to spend hours walking in the countryside. It could also be possible that a person's body does not produce, or cannot process, particular certain hormones or foodstuffs. In this case it would be foolish to try and get by without additional minerals or vitamins.
If it's something you're trying to aim for, have a chat with your doctor first or a nutritionist who would be able to guide you in the right direction and let you know the best foods for your particular body.
There, lecture over, enjoy your eating :-)

No. If you're eating a balanced diet you should be getting all the vitamins and minerals your body needs from the food you're eating. The only exception is pregnancy.

It depends on who you talk too. To be honest. Some will tell you should and some will tell you it doesn't matter. Personally I do supplement my diet. Most "feel better" when they start taking vitamins simply because their body is getting the required nutrients or vitamins it needs. It will not hurt you by any means.

Absolutely. Vitamins and minerals are depleted in the soil in which we grow our food... this means our food does NOT contain the right amount of absorbable minerals we need every day. Take a multi-vitamin, and for calcium, try calcium citrate, which is the more absorbable form of calcium.

In theory, no - you shouldn't need supplements if you're diet's a balanced one. Personally I hate peeling oranges and potatoes so I take a vitamin C supplement. It's better to play safe but multivitamins should not be needed daily.

Vitamins are used to take the place of nutrients that most people are missing because of their diet. If you eat right you don't need vitamins.
