Worms don't normally bite, so my guess is it is a snake. Has it bitten anyone or just at people? You should take it to a zoo or college biology department. They may be able to tell you what kind of snake it is.

If it's only the thickness of fishing line, it is definitely an invertebrate of some sort, and not a snake.
It sounds weird, I'd like to see a photo.

It was a snake....worms do not bite. I hope someone didn't get bit. If it was venomous....the baby one can give more venom than the adult ones because they do not know how to control the flow. Let us know what kind it was....just curious.

if it is BITING, then it is deffinetly a snake! im not exactly sure how to define the species with such a vague description though, sorry.

sounds like it is a Copperhead Snake, they are very poisinous you should get rid of it before it hurts someone my dog got bit by one and died
