Doesn't mean anything??
A five pointed star looks like a pentagram and represents the elements and my religion. It represents the infinate universe and how most mundane things are insignificant.

I wish the world was more open-minded and artistic! Employers and conservatives *ha*! It's not like I'm getting a tattoo of a naked girl or something!

I can't load the image for some reason -- but it drives me nuts when people make comments like, "It's too plain/has no meaning" or "Remember -- tattoos are permanent".
Hey, you know what? Water is wet. The sun is hot. Why not try making a statement that ISN'T obvious? Jeez.
If you like the design, it obviously has meaning to you. All tattoos are uncomfortable, at best, when getting them done. I've never gotten one on my hand, but I do have one that crosses my hip bone, and the inking on that hurt. The human hand has a lot of bones (not to mention nerve endings), so it would stand to reason that it would hurt to get one there. But, I say get it if you want it. Don't let these other people talk you out of it!

Oh honey....your comment about employers made me laugh. You are so right, it is not a naked woman. But, it is a tattoo. Not all, but many employers do not allow any visible tattoos. My employer is one of them. You may have a job now that doesn't mind, but what if you switch careers? It is a very pretty tattoo. If it had meaning to me, as it does to you, I would be proud of it. I would think about placement. Get it, it's wonderful. Just be aware that a lot of people are not as open to the idea of tattoos as we are. Good luck.

too simple and plain.
one thing to think about. that tattoo may sound all wonderful right now but think about 10 yrs down the road. a lot of companies now require you not to have any visible tattoos. a tattoo on your hand would be hard to cover up, even with stage makeup (it would wash off and get on everything). if you are truly wanting a tattoo, put in a place where people see it only if you want them to.
**added comment** i never said i was against them. i have 3 myself but i do have a job where i do have to make sure they are covered all the time. one of them is very hard to hide. i got it when i was younger not thinking about the future.

I really really love it. I'm underage for a tattoo but when I turn 16 my family will let me get one! I think it will probably hurt, but doesn't every tatoo hurt? I've read that colored tatoos hurt more than just black ones. When I get one, I really want either a small old fashioned compass on the underside of my wrist (Ouch, all the veins!) or this! I say go for it! Good Luck! It's fabulous!

It is cute but not very original. Off to the side of the hand like that won't hurt as much as if you put it in the middle.

its cute but i wouldnt get it on my hand, maybe on the feet would be cute or ankle somewhere that is easier to hid for jobs, and elegant events. but if your employer doesnt have a visible tattoo policy go for it on your hand

It may seem to original for some, but I'll go with it because of the contour. Seems like a good idea.

i like it! its kind of plain and overdone though.
im sure it would hurt but its tiny and its only a black outline so it would probably only take like half an hour at the most.

Anything on your hand is tacky and very unattractive!!!!! Do it on your hip bone with the big one to smallest going down south but at an angle.... That'll hot. But the hand is a bad idea...
