I started 5 mg today ( 3x a day) and have been exhausted all day. I was told that if I continued to fidgit constantly (as I normally do) in a few days I can increase it to 10 mg 3x a day. Is the dosage to low if this continues?

Yes, tiredness can be a side effect of Ritalin but it is usually one that passes within 2 weeks. It takes that long to adjust to the medication and also for it to reach its beneficial level. This is not a real common side effect but it does happen for some people. Any time you experience a side effect, your doctor should be notified so he can keep track of your progress on the medication. If the fatigue continues past 2 weeks, notify him again.

No, the dosage is not too low if the fatigue continues. The fatigue is simply a non-dangerous side effect that you are experiencing. You may follow your doctor's instructions to increase the dosage unless he tells you differently when you notify him of the fatigue. Please call your doctor in the morning.
