Love is action, and not words. I would show him love, like this:
Kick his ace-hole. Tell him to stop it and treat his wife better and if he didn't I'd kick his ace-hole again.
After that I'd find out why he thinks he needs to cheat.
Then kick him in the ace-hole for making up a stupid excuse.
Sorry, there's no excuse for it.

How would you feel if your wife were to start cheating on you with another?
If you care nothing more for her and your marital vows means nothing to you, then file for a divorce and live unconscious your life they way you want and leave others alone to heal for the hurt you have caused!

I would remind him the Bible says a man is to love his wife the way Christ loved the church. And to read the places in the word that talks about how Christ says to love a woman.
