If no one can see them, why not, if it was visible, it might clash a little, but hey, if you have them, use them, no harm in that

White shoes with an ivory dress will make the dress look dirty and dingy--not the effect you're going for. And, while you might not be able to see the shoes when you're standing still, you will be able to see them when you walk and dance. If you can get the shoes dyed, the do that (not all shoes are dyeable). If not, then get shoes in ivory or bone or even beige or gold. You don't have to pay $75 for them: ballerina flats are very popular now. Check out Payless, DSW, Famous Footwear or other discount shoe stores.

if the shoes are hidden, i think you are fine with almost any color. although if you are still a little wary, multi-task the shoes for other uses so you don't feel you wasted the $75. you could get the shoes dyed red and wear them with jeans and a black and white fitted t-shirt. or a navy blue shirt. christina aguilera often wears a red flat with different outfits. if that won't work, see if the store where you bought them will allow you to do an even exchange or get a gift card. if those options won't work, consider buying two clip-on jeweled brooches. attach them to the front of each shoes to break up some of the whiteness in case they peek out from under the dress. you can use brooches that match your flowers, like faux rubies for red roses, or green jewels if your flowers are white with green stems. this will be an unexpected touch and attention to detail. anyone who sees it will love it and be so distracted by the jewels they won't notice the white vs ivory. a great place for inexpensive brooches is www.girlprops.com.

I don't think it really matters (unless you are doing the garter thing) I have some clear shoes with diamond thingies on them that I wore when I was a bridesmaid in my friends wedding... and I am going to wear those with my wedding dress because I'm trying to keep costs down, I don't see going out and spending a bunch of money for shoes that I'll probably never wear again. And I'm not planning on anyone looking up my dress, lol!
It'll be ok. If all else fails just stick them suckers on ebay or in the classifieds or something and use what money you get to buy some new shoes (if it worries you that much)
I mean really, who's gonna see them?

Sure why not? If you being the main attraction of the ceremony didn't notice that it was ivory when you bought it in the first place, then I think most of the people won't either. There are just a few "fashionistas" that will prefer an ivory colored shoes. But they would care less since I believe they will be at your wedding as wellwishers not to critisize.

You can probably get the shoes dyed to match the dress- lots of shoe stores and shoe repair stores offer this service, but whatever you do, DO NOT pair white shoes with an ivory dress. The effect will be all wrong.

If you can't see the shoes, then it shouldn't be a problem. If you are going to do ANYTHING where you would see the shoes, then you might want to find some less expensive ivory ones for later or something. But, other than that, you should be fine.

If they are dyable go for it, if not, try sewing (by hand) some ivory lace or ivory pearls at the top of the shoes. I think you'll like the look. You are going to need the comfort, it'll be a long day for you. Best wishes to you both for a long, happy healthy life together.

I'd say no! You don't want your shoes whiter then your dress. The dress needs to be the one thing that shines. I wouldn't buy new shoes. I'd ask the store if they dye shoes. The store I bought mine from, will dye your shoes for free. If you are sure no one can see them, don't worry about it. This is your day, and you will only wear them for 1 day for a few hours.
Congratulations!

If the dress will be long enough to where the shoes won't be seen..then i guess so. But i work in a tuxedo rental store...and you should never put ivory and white together. the shoes will make your dress look yellow-ish (like pee) if the shoes will be showing.

Try the dress on with the shoes (if you can) and have an objective friend along to get her opinion. If you can't see the shoes or can't notice the difference, don't worry about it. If you can tell, ask about having them dyed.
