I want to know about the stories about the US-Mexican War 1846-1848 from both sides, American and Mexican views. I have doubts about some of the stories, ie casualties and some battle accounts that I have been reading in several books and internet resources.

Well as they say "The history of a war is written by the winner"; however, I feel certain that you can find reasonably accurate information on the Mexican War of 1848 from credible and respected historians. I think you just aren't looking hard enough at the best sources available. A good reference librarian at your library or the local university can do you a lot of good here, as they are trained not only to find books but also to evaluate their reliability.

Evaluating websites is harder, as they often do not list who wrote them and/or the credentials of the creators.

Well, it is quite simple, you Americans, wanted more land, the same as you did with half of U.S.A. before that. Also, you wanted the petrol of Texas, wich is a lot. You achivied to defeat us to some point because our president Santa Ana was paid a lot for those lands, so, in fact, you fought the Mexican people, not the army. However, Pancho Villa stopped your invasion, althought he was the leader of a bunch of untrained people, he achivied to defeat a lot of your captains, so the deal of selling all of Mexico was broken.
