I did this. Email me if you want to see pictures. First off, I used the bright bold colors. When you first walked in a had tiki torches lining the walkway and crossed over the entrance. The hall had a double door entrance with a lil foyer in between the 2 sets of doors. I had that packed with trees to give it a jungle look. When you entered, I had the bar in straight view. Tiki torches around it and 2 posters hanging up of Caribbean scenes. That gave you the initial idea of what you were suppose to see. The favors were Caribbean scented candles of Mango Daqueri, Margarita, Ocean Lagoon, Pineapple, and I forgot the name of the green one. So it was a huge stack of yellow, orange, green, blue and white candles. Over the gift table, I had a collage of my husband and I on our cruises and trips to the Caribbean. I also had a set of snorkel fins and a bowl that I bought in the Caribbean for cards or money.

Of course bright colors are the overwhelming force. I used lime green on the buffet tables, my bridesmaids and tableclothes were turqoise, and I had a coral/tangerine accent tables (the cake table and sweetheart table). Flowers were bright multicolored glads. Napkins were in sand color and fushia. I used bright hibiscus flowers scattered on tables and tied to the trees the reception hall had.

As far as the food goes, the first table you saw was fruit. Fruit as high as you could see. All sorts of different fruits. The pineapple had been hollowed out and the caterer used that as decoration as well. One pineapple was on top of the punch fountain.

Other flowers--we used coral roses in our bouquets. Bear grass. A few ginger (red spikey things) in the alter arrangement and on the head table.

It was very bright with lots of bold colors. I bought a lot of tiki torches at the end of the summer for decoration. Primarily the layout was important. All the tables were centralized and they were all the color of the sea. The other tables (coral and lime green) were around the edges. Centerpieces were a tall vase with glads in it (inexpensive with maximum blooms per stem). River rocks and voltive candles scattered around the vase.

It turned out beautiful. Email me and I'll be glad to show you pictures. The thing with a Caribbean theme is you need to have a clear vision. That will keep your bright colors looking fresh and funky, instead of like a gumball machine. Keep your colors in the same family--imagine a pack of Tropical Skittles--and anytime you need a neutral use sand. It will be beautiful and you'll be thrilled with your decision when you look back on the pictures!

I don't have the slightest idea, but why not go to a travel agent and ask for travel brochures.

Then, go on the website for "caribanna" which is held in Toronto each year and check out the costumes (which are fantastic". You may get some ideas there, too. I know there is a whole lot of W O W.

Congratulations and good luck.

The first thing I think of is colors, happy colors.
We did a beach theme for our wedding. We named the tables after beaches we had been to or wanted to go to.
For the centerpieces, we had sea shells, candles, palm trees (miniatures, not real), and a pail in one of our wedding colors (ocean blue) filled with candy. My dad's side of the family have sweet tooths. :) For the cards for sitting, I had them made of a seashell shape. I gave out seashell coasters.
