Matthew 3:16,17 clearly states that when Jesus Christ was baptized a voice from the heavens saying:“This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved.” God himself said Jesus Crist was his son. How can that be hard to understand? Clearly God and Jesus were seperate. No offense to anyone just trying to see what people who believe the Trinity have to say about this.
Matthew 3:16,17 16"After being baptized Jesus immediately came up from the water; and, look! the heavens were opened up, and he saw descending like a dove God’s spirit coming upon him. 17 Look! Also, there was a voice from the heavens that said: “This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved.”

THE BIBLE PHRASES GOD AND CHRIST AS SEPERATE PERSONS.
1 Cor. 11:3 says, " But I want you to understand that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and GOD IS THE HEAD OF CHRIST." (NASB)
(God and Christ (in heaven) are phrased as two DIFFERENT persons in this text. Not only that, but God has headship over Christ. The word "GOD" (NOT THE 'FATHER') is used showing a seperateness between God and Christ.)
In John 17:1-3, Jesus said:
"Father....This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent."( NASB)
(Jesus called his Father, "the only true God". Why would Jesus call only the Father that if Jesus WAS God? Jesus refers to God as a seperate person from himself.)
"And Jesus said to him, 'Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone.'" - Mark 10:18 (RSV)
(Jesus isn't God not only because Jesus is talking here about someone else (God), but he also says that this someone else (God) exhibits this quality far greater than Jesus.)
"Believe in God, believe ALSO in me." - John 14:1 (RSV)
(Jesus clearly defines here how God is someone other than himself.)
"Jesus said to her, 'Do not hold me, for I have not
yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brethren and
say to them, I am ascending to my Father and your
Father, to MY God and your God.'" - John 20:17 (RSV)
(Jesus is not God but rather HAS a God.)

Boy , alot of these answers are CONFUSING ..... lets simplify this a little..
People are making this ONE Into 3 and all three the same person on there own or from what someone taught them..... still that doesnt make it right.
Jesus left definate scriptures to show that He and the FATHER was as One on the same accord.. in purpose, faith, harmony, which All believers must have the same Oneness .
Jesus said at John 17:22 " I have given them the glory that you have given me in order that they(true believers) may be ONE just as we are ONE."
So they are one but not the same person.....John 14:28 The Father is Greater than I am.....

This question (and ones similar to it) has really become tiresome. Persons who believe in the trinity have no scriptural or logical basis for this belief. However, in the light of 2Corinthians 4:4, it is understandable why many continue to embrace this belief. Debating the matter will not change their thinking and could be a cause for stumbling. (Note 2Timothy 2:14) Accurate knowledge of God's word can and does overturn "strongly entrenched things." (2Corinthians 10:4)Accurate knowledge is progressive. We do not expect spiritual infants to be able to digest meat. (1Corinthians 3:1,2)

Jesus is a god, but not God Almighty, YHWH. To Zeke, the correct translation of John 1:1 is: "was a god" or "was divine." Verse 2 Says: He was in the beginning with God. So you see the verses are talking about two entities.

If you notice the answers that support the Trinity make it confusing. It contradicts itself. There will always be those in this system of things that believe in the Trinity. Many Catholics tell me it's just something humans can't understand. As we are to worhip Jehovah God in Truth, He has let us know what is right and what is wrong in understanding such things.

My husband and I are 2 people united, we are of one thought, one purpose, one goal. YET, we are still TWO SEPARATE beings. Separate, as in apart from one another. Two different personalities. Just as Jehovah and Jesus are. They are in agreement on purpose, goal, thought, but they are still two very different beings. One is God Almighty and One is God's Son.
There can be no doubt about this if you examine this:
Luke 4: 5 So he[Satan] brought him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the inhabited earth in an instant of time; 6 and the Devil said to him: “I will give you all this authority and the glory of them, because it has been delivered to me, and to whomever I wish I give it. 7 You, therefore, if you do an act of worship before me, it will all be yours.” 8 In reply Jesus said to him: “It is written, ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’”
The same account is also at Matt. 4:8 8 Again the Devil took him along to an unusually high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory, 9 and he said to him: “All these things I will give you if you fall down and do an act of worship to me.” 10 Then Jesus said to him: “Go away, Satan! For it is written, ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’” 11 Then the Devil left him, and, look! angels came and began to minister to him.
Certainly we know that Satan knew Christ, and knew his position with the Father. Offering the world to someone he would KNOW was God, would be stupid and pointless. In fact, the whole test by Satan would have been pointless. God could not have failed, and Satan wouldn't have bothered to tempt God.

Jesus was not god, and he never claimed to be god. Jesus was God's only son. Don't believe in Trinity, remember when Jesus was up in the mountain and was tempted by the Devil, Jesus prayed to god for help (How could he praying to himself?).
Great Question.

Jesus never said he was God. yes he said you seen me you seen the Father, his was with Jehovah God for billions of years before he came to earth. no one ever seen Jehovah, not even Moses. but they seen Jesus Christ. who was Jesus praying to? you cannot pray to yourself. Jesus always said that he cannot do anything without the Father in the Heaven. when Jesus was on the stake, he said Father forgive them. who resurrected Jesus when he was dead? he cannot resurrect yourself. even the 12 said that he was Jehovah's son. when Jesus was baptized, Jehovah came down like a dove and said this is my son

Jesus and Heavenly Father are two separate and distinct personages. Together with the Holy Ghost, they make up what the Bible calls the Godhead. Each has their own role in the plan of salvation. They are united in purpose. The verse you cite is a good example of how they work.
