Cheese is a double-edged sword. Calcium is necessary for your body and aids in weight loss, but the fat in dairy products is all saturated fat. That's why it's best to eat cheese in moderation or to eat lowfat cheese.
Avoid these as much as possible:
-- Trans fat (any type of partially or fully hydrogenated oil)
-- High fructose corn syrup (soft drinks are LOADED with it)
-- Fast food
-- Junk food
-- White sugar, white flour, white rice, white potatoes
-- The deadly C’s (cookies, cakes, candy, chips, cola)
Build your diet around these trim-body-friendly foods:
-- Nuts, any kind (almonds are best)
-- Beans/Legumes
-- Fresh vegetables (green is GREAT!!!)
-- Dairy products (as long as they’re low-fat or non-fat)
-- Eggs
-- Lean meats (fish and poultry top the list)
-- Olive oil
-- Whole grain breads/cereals/pasta
-- Fresh fruits (anything that ends in “berry” is a winner)
-- Tea (green tea or black pekoe tea
Remember, desserts and treats are the exception, not the rule. Having said that, however, (1) you can have a couple of pieces of chocolate every day – just don’t overdo, and (2) If you eat a strict diet, allow yourself one “cheat meal” every week where you eat and drink whatever you want as long as you don’t gorge yourself. That’ll help keep you from feeling deprived and it’ll make it easier to stick with your eating plan.
Good luck!

To a very high degree, you should weigh as much as you feel happy with weighing.
As long as you are at a weight where you are healthy, the most important part is that you are HAPPY with your weight... not that you "should be X pounds", but that no matter what you weigh, you are happy with that instead of striving to be a size 2 or something like that
That being said, if you want to lose weight, exercise is a really good (and safe) way to lose weight. In addition to that, I would recommend meeting with a nutritionist or dietitian to see if there is something else that may benefit you more

Cheese is bad for you even if not on a diet. Eat carrots, celery, apples, low fat foods, meat without any fat. Eat in small quantities... about 5 times a day. Drink alot of water.

it's not only what you eat but how much and how often you eat. the best way to lose weight is to eat small meals and snacks throughout the day with balanced nutrition.
cheese is good in small quantities because of the fat content.
fruits and veggies, lean sources of protein, high fiber, water(drink enough so your urine is clear), proper portions of higher carb foods like potatoes, pastas, breads, rice, cereal, and beans.
watch your fat, cholesterol, and added sugar and sodium content. an easy way to to this is don't eat anything processed or packaged except plain pasta, plain rice, dry beans, bagged fresh or frozen veggies, fruits, and potatoes.
if you drink caffeinated coffee, limit yourself to one cup per day. sodas and sweets should be a once in a blue moon thing with proper portion.

Well, I believe cheese is a great snack
food, but if you're watching fat intake, you may have to limit amount of cheese. I also use lowfat cottage cheese on crackers, corn chips......it is almost like dip. I know cheese has calcium and protein, so it is good for you.
