Isn't this a slap on the face to everyone who died on 9/11? The grand marshall and several organizers are radical muslims who believe in jihad and in establishing an Islam state in America.

Well not really....I mean just because the people on the planes were muslim doesn't mean there shouldn't be a muslim pride parade. I am an Atheist and i don't feel like the entire group should be condemmed for the actions of a few. I mean granted Islam is a twisted and insane religion but not all of them are crazy enough to fly planes into buildings. I mean think of this this way. Timothy Mcveigh was a Christian so does that mean they can never do any christian activities in Oklahoma city?

Apart fromt the fact that its not a crime for muslims to have their own day. You seem to be getting your information from a page which clearly shows bias even in the name. Don't you think that its a bit ridiculous that you think that the Muslims who chose to do this parade are all radicals? just because of the actions of a few meglomaniacs, empowered by the CIA in the first place? There's the IRA but that doesnt mean every irish man and woman is speading hate messages and giving out guns on St. Patricks Day. Im sure the Muslims of NY thought that it was inconvinient too for the date to be so close to 9/11, but obviously the City of New York put the parade on that date because of the tight schedual brought on by beuraucracy. And why do you think that the people holding the parade in the first place are all the radicals and terrorists you stereotype them to be ?. I'd find it a bit hard to believe that Al Qaeda are going from bombings and kidnappings to holding their own parade, god forbid they have posters and floats.

Why would it be a slap to the face? Muslims are a group of people that follow the religion Islam. And terrorists are the people who killed innocent lives on 9/11. Obviously, you have your facts wrong.

I did a check on line about this and the real sources of these news reports about the parade are from the way right-wing, paranoia sites. Not one legitimate news site mentions it. This is all calculated by a few people to stir up hate.

Blacks kill people, so we should punish the whole race? White people kill also.... If you punish every race that commits an evil, not a single human would go unpunished.

Consider the source....

properly, that the US has bombed harmless human beings is trouble-free. In worldwide conflict II, working example, besides tens of hundreds of German and jap civilians, who could desire to arguably be seen "non-harmless" considering the fact that they have been area of the enemy u . s . (regardless of if i could disagree), the US additionally bombed actually harmless French, Belgian, Dutch, Moroccan, Algerian, Tunisian, Filipino, etc., civilians. and don't even get me began on Iraq, the place diverse the harmless people who've been killed, and there have been tens of hundreds, have been killed, not by ability of insurgents or terrorists, yet often by ability of American bombs (and shells). to no count if the US has bombed harmless worldwide places, that relies upon upon your definition of harmless. by ability of my definition, which would be an unqualified "sure," and others, including Garrison, have lined this already. notwithstanding, i've got faith that, for the Joes of the worldwide, if the US bombs a rustic it incredibly is by ability of definition not harmless. it incredibly is variety of like that assertion by ability of President Nixon that when the President does something, meaning it is not unlawful. commencing up in the 20 th Century, the share of civilian to militia casualties in conflict began to upward thrust, and with worldwide conflict II it skyrocketed. considering the fact that then, in maximum wars approximately ninety% of the casualties have been civilian. i'm not asserting that the US is intentionally concentrated on civilians. yet no count in case you're or not, once you drop a 5-hundred-pound bomb right into a crowded city community attempting to take out some terrorists or insurgents, there is no question which you would be killing non-combatants as properly. And once you are trying this many times, because of the fact the US has accomplished and is doing, you would be killing diverse non-combatants.

I'm not American, I'm from Canada, but I seriously think the Muslims could have picked 350 or more other BETTER days in the year to hold their parade than THEN. It would have been a show of respect for them to keep their parade to any other month than September.

One word of warning to all Americans though:

Please be very careful NOT to let the word "racist" force you to stop exercising YOUR rights when it comes to all matters American. We never want new people to come in and start changing all the rules, little by little, so that one day, we suddenly realize that everything is changed.

Racism is NOT a dirty word!

Naturally, It's not a NICE way to treat others, especially those who are fellow countrymen, but it IS human nature! Everybody in every country in the world does it! It's not a crime worse than murder! And the west seems to be the only continent that can be shamed by the mere use of the word.

It's not racism to be careful about absolute strangers coming into our country. We can't trust our governments to be discriminating enough to pick the nicest immigrants to move here. And the most important fact is: WE CAN NEVER BE TOO COMPLACENT AGAIN!

IT'S TOO DANGEROUS TO ALLOW OTHERS TO SHAME US BY CALLING US RACIST!

I find that news article to be very disturbing. I would think Americans would too.

i agree w/ chris, we have the right to have any parades we would like. i haven't heard about this one, but september 11th is just a day, yes bad things happened on that day, but it is still a day just like november 2nd my birhtday, you are seeing to much into this. i'm sure you don't have a problem w/ the gay pride parade, puerto rican pride parade, or any other pride parades, there is no difference. i am muslim and i would never go to it only because i don't believe in pride parades, but that is just me. and the muslims in the parade aren't the ones that fly the planes into the buildings. you do realize that those people are dead right? and these people haven't done anything to anyone. you are just trying to take offence to this for no real reason, but that is just my opinion the same way that you seem to think that they are doing something wrong.

The constitution protects their right to free assembly.

Part of the purpose of the Islamist Day Parade (according to the article you cited) is "To promote better understanding and cooperation... with other interfaith communities"

These people are not talking about establishing a Muslim state in America. They want to reach out to other communities that reject them and open a dialogue.

Didn't anyone notice that the link is to a MILITANT Islamic organization?

Those people are religious EXTREMISTS.

They do not represent all Muslims (or even MOST of them!). Just as there's nothing the Christians can do to stop the KKK from demonstrating, there's nothing Muslims can do to stop these nutjobs from doing what they do.

TRUST me. MOST of the Muslims in America and around the world are NOT like these people.

What?? Why do they get a day? They aren't special! We are all equal.
They are attention cravers if they have to have a Muslim Day. So if I \ram a plane into a buliding, I will get a parade for my religion and a special day for my religion??
Thats not cool, they should keep theyre beliefs to themselves. True Chrsitians are trying to be seperate form the world andwe don't even have our own state, what makes them think they should have a state?
