when i go out places, i see all these hot guys my own age and i cant get up courage to talk to them at all. i see them looking at me, but they dont come over either. i am a flirt at my school because i am comfortable there. (for background, im a white girl with a skater/punk look at a city school where there is 12% white kids) the guys i see are from the suburbs and i dont know how to get comfortable talking to them. even living with some of them at a program at a local college, i still couldnt talk to them. is there anything i can do to get up courage to talk to them or get them to come over to me?

the comfort thing is that i know people in my school accept me, but the suburbs are so preppy that i think they wont accept me because im not black. no racism intended there!

If your looking into dating then maybe try to talk to them as just friends first to becoome more comfortable around them and then move into dating.

I can TOTALLY relate to this!
Have you ever been in a school play? If not, no big deal.
What you are going to do, before you go out anywhere, is "get into character". You must pretend that you are in a play and you have the part of a beautiful, seductive, sophisticated, out-going, sexy woman.
Imagine how a woman like this would behave in public and what she would do and say to hot guys. What kind of remarks would she say. She would totally dominate the conversation, so what would she talk about?
Once you have these ideas (write them down), role-play in your mirror. Do not worry about feeling stupid or being rejected. If you are rejected, they are rejecting your character, NOT YOU!! But, if you play the part right, they will be swept off of their feet by you!
Trust me, I started doing this 11 years ago and I still do it. It has never failed to get me the girl that I want!

The guys are just like you. Everything is based on looks. You only like the hott guys and the guys are interested in hott girls. If you are just average looking the hott guys your age are not interested in you. Deep down you know that and that is why you fear rejection.
Forget about the hott guys that are out of your league and go talk to average looking guys. You will not be afraid to talk to them since they don't turn you on. However, some will be very nice.

Maybe they're intimidated by you. If you're tall, very attractive, or just mean-looking, I'd be intimidated.
My advice: Try being happier. Smile, wink, even wave at them... Guys will notice and feel more comfortable approaching you. We take the hints!

⥠To get yourself started just walk by a group of guys and say "Hey or whats up"... just something so they know you walked by. Work your way up to talking to them. After inital hellos, if you see a pair of shoes you like say "Where did you get those shoes?" This will start a conversation and there you go! You'll be talking before you know it! :-) Good Luck!
