Root 1 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon
Now is the time to stock up on this fabulous Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile in South America. It's dark cherry in color and has delightful aromas of currants, vanilla, and berries. The rich fruity flavors are nicely balanced by oak. Enjoy the creamy texture with a lovely dark chocolate finish. Rated 90 by Robert Parker.($10.99)

I grew up drinking wine since I was 5 (came from an Italian family straight off the boat). Along with that my family makes their own wine. I've tried many different kinds from the local wine shops and so far my favorite to buy under $15 is actually an Australian cabernet called Rosemount Estate Diamond Label. It's a very good cab and costs about 11 bucks!

When I'm craving a hardy red wine, I usually go for BLUE JEAN RED. It's a California wine that I get in the Midwest for less the $11 a bottle. The label looks like a denim jean pocket.
I'm also pretty found of Beringer Gamay Beaujolais (not spelled right, I'm sure) and any of the Barefoot reds.

each 3 hundred and sixty 5 days nutrients and wine lists the excellent wines under $20 - bypass to the library and see in case you will locate the main cutting-edge subject. there is likewise a wine e-newsletter you are able to sign up for with "A Southern Season" it is a large keep in North Carolina. each month they provide 12 wines for $ninety 9, and a few are fairly low-priced. they provide solid descriptions of each wine there too.

Where I live in Spain I can get an excellent red wine for less than $3. If you can get it in the USA try a Torres Coronas. That would be the equivalent of $6 (4.5 euros).
I would think it will be much dearer in the USA

Most California produced Merlot sell between $10.00 and $20.00. A Merlot is best once it is three years old or older. However, it should be decanted once it reaches 10 years in the bottle. Merlot is tasty, a bit stronger than most Bordeaux grape based wines. I usually drink Merlot by itself, not necessarily with food. It goes well when you and friends want to enjoy a drink, but not be overwhelmed by the drink.
