What is people's prejudice about Scorpio's?

Question

Easy question :) - not looking for fights here, despite being a Scorpio myself, just interested in what other people think about Scorpio's in general.

Then again, I act more like a Sagittarius anyway :p

Or save it for when I actually ask people what they think about it - for now, please just answer the question; there's already enough jokers in this forum.

LOL mikey, it's not really typical behaviour - I've actually been very patient with those people, but in all fairness; when you ask a question and you expect a serious answer to it, and all you get is some verbal abuse in return, wouldn't anyone get sick and tired of it?

But the strictness is actually my Capricorn mars coming into play.

LOL Simm, hit the nail right on the head there :) God help him indeed, cos he's needed it up to now... and thanks to my other half, I now know that Virgo's can be immensely jealous when they want to... so no more late night drinking and socialising adventures for me, sadly enough :(

Oh, by the way;

My personal experiences with other Scorpio's was that they were far too intense for me. People tell me I can be quite intense as well and mysterious - and that's after I bleedin' tell them my life story, imagine that - but I'm very happy-go-lucky, when things get too intense, I either fight against the intensity or run off and look for less intense people to spend my time with.

I find Scorpio's are usually interested in death and the dark side - including crime - again, not that I'm one to talk because I'm interested in ghosts and the supernatural, but then in a very different way. Another thing is that they are very proud and stubborn... and that they are chronical cynics and hardly laugh... there's this rumour as well, that Scorpio's are sex fiends - they just like to talk about it, I've noticed - but then again, a typical Scorpio doesn't talk much, usually...

Sudeep, I'm just worried, because when people ask my sign, I can't exactly lie about it. Fair enough, my rising is Sagittarius, my moon is Gemini, mercury, uranus, venus and neptune are all in Sagittarius in the 1st house and my mars in in Capricorn, along with Jupiter. The only object of any significance that I have in Scorpio, is my sun, ironically conjuncted by Saturn, giving me more of a Saturn influenced sun than a Scorpio influenced one - you should see me worry myself about failure all the time - and even more ironically, that sun is in the 12th house.

BUT tell anyone you're a Scorpio - which, despite everything, I am - and they come up with words like mysterious, intense, quiet, emotional, dark, sex addict, etc... all which I'm not! ...... well, apart from the emotional sex addict, maybe... :)

LOL Vijay - they are, both of them, scorpio's as well as capricorns - at least mercury in either of the signs... god knows why my mother's a loudmouth, though, with her mercury in Scorpio, but generally I've noticed that capricorns just don't like to waste any breath on anything they think isn't worth talking about... sagittarius, on the other hand, being in between those two signs, doesn't care - as long as they can talk, they're happy!

Oh, for the record - I'm not asking about this because I'm a Scorpio (which I don't consider myself to be - I blame my talking about myself on mercury in the first; has the same effect as aries mercury and just talk to an aries and you'll know what I mean...) but because I get all the grief, and I just want to know what people think about me and anyone born in the same 30 day span when I tell them I'm a scorpio.

Although, I would have to add that I can't help giggling when I see people backing up once they find out I was born on november 10. I can't help it, I've a strange sense of humour :p

I'm a Scorpio, and totally agree with you that people's first reaction is always to point out negative personality traits that Scorpios are supposed to have.

But Scorpios are also determined, intuitive, power-full, passionate and magnetic.

I don't believe in horoscopes but i think a persons star sign is quite often an accurate portrayal of their personality.

For example Scorpios are apparently meant to be good at police and detective work, anything to do with the law, physics or psychology.
Which is weird as law is my chosen career, and i have always been interested in psychology!

There's Some Good and Bad in Each Signs.. If more scorpios are bothering people than other signs then it will appear that scorpios get the bad rap. Last year it was Aquarius seemingly getting the bad rap. There are a lot of people that are picking on me and although I haven't found out who they are I found out they are scorpio but not all scorpios are bad. Scorpios are Good at Observing but the bad ones go too far they don't know where to draw the line. Many Scorpios are News Reporters! Some Pisces Pick on me too many find them negative.. Some are but Not all! .. Mike Roberts weatherman Pisces! Aries are Bossy but Not All of them! Too many people think all Aquarius are cold selfish mixed up loners but it just isn't so.. some are helpers.. Judge Judy is Aquarius. Maybe you and think of a Scorpio that is a good person. Wasn't Merlin a Scorpio? Steve Wilkos? How about Lwellyn? Next year some other sign will probably be picked on more often! I think I know what sign it will be but not going to say cause don't want to start it! Look for the Goodness in Year Sign! You Know who and how you are! Look, Sorry, but I have not read all the rest that follows your question as I only wish to answer your question, as I see it.

Well, I think the reason that people are sometimes a bit reticent and wary about the sign of Scorpio is because it is so damned Mysterious.!..and Powerful! Nonetheless you can`t quite fathom out exactly in what way they are so.
Is it their Intensity perhaps? They have lots of that too.

I always think a true Scorpio never goes unnoticed, or, should I say, unfelt. You can SENSE their presence. They often have rather, or should I say, very magnetic eyes!
I personally find them, (the Men, in my case,) devastatingly attractive. They connect with one`s eyes and draw you in.
I think that of all the signs, they(Scorpians,) are the most Magical ones! However, they can also be the most unreasonably jealous and the most revengeful. Perhaps they should try throughout their lives to grow in Wisdom and Spirituality. You see, Scorpians can make the most incredible Saints. However they should perhaps control their need for Power as it could destroy them, and all who follow them! Afterall Spirituality and Power are a dangerous mix!,( as we know if we look back through History!)
And what about these times now?
There`s plenty of that going on now thanks perhaps in part to Pluto.
Pluto, the governing planet of Scorpio, is very powerful at the moment in its present position, as it is moving into Capricorn from Saggitarius and, while doing so, forming strong aspects with the Sun, Mercury and a retrograde Venus, all conjuncted at the end of Leo.
Perhaps there are people, of a Scorpian type, trying hard to gain control emotionally and mentally and proffessionally over others, or feeling the need to change in order for them to be able to exert more power in the future, or yearning for a second chance with a lost Love.
In some cases this need for change on the part of Scorpian -type people, or for gaining more power, might be the result of much thinking and planning, while being guided by the best intentions of a strong Idealistic nature. Whatever happens the outcome won`t be immediate, but will take a few weeks, or a month or two,to come to fruition.

I had a relationship with a scorpio which, even though it was on again/off again for only a couple of years, the effects of the aftermath screwed me up for a decade. At the lowest point, the depression almost killed me. Fortunately, I eventually healed, but it was a heluva long road. Now I have a very wonderful libra woman in my life and this little sagittarius is as happy as a hot dog.

I'm a Scorpio. With me, I think the issue is that I'm extreme. I say this constantly. I always tell folks that there is no "in between" with me. The other night, the guy that I was dating offended. He actually TRIED me and got something he did not expect...he got cursed out and kicked out before he could even say anything back! :) Then...I went back to bed and passed out! He tried to tell me later that I flipped on him...you know what I had to say..."Keep trying me and you'll KNOW what I look like when I FLIP!" I think that the prejudice comes from the ones that can't understand us, or are too intimidated to try...every one that has a clue, (in my opinion) always give due respect. I am a QUEEN and expect to be treated as one...most folks don't have that type of energy...too bad for them...
ONE MORE THING...i also forgot...a couple of years ago I was reading an article or book (or something) and it mentioned that at the point in time, the most Presidents and Death Row Inmates were of the Scorpio sign...interesting, huh?

I think the biggest problem people have with Scorpio's is our blatant honesty. Most people are not prepared to deal with the truth, they'd rather you lied to them. Sorry, but that is an impossibility for a Scorpio!

My ex-husband (Virgo) will not go "toe to toe" with me, and if asked he will admit he is afraid of me. He knows if you cross me...run...because you know I am coming right at you.

My current husband (Scorpio) thinks I am fabulous! Go figure. I knew I loved him from the moment I laid eyes on him. He just didn't know he was going to marry me yet.

I generally do not like people all that much. I find that they always disappoint me in some way, i.e. thinking it's OK to tell white lies, brag, pretend to be someone/something they are not, talk behind others back, etc. You get the point. I can't take it. So I don't go out of my way to befriend anyone. It keeps me sane!

Both my Mother and sister are scorpios. Mothers b-day is 1 day before my sisters. I'm a libra, I love them to death but they can get really emotional at times. They can be so happy one minute and then BAM sad the next. I'm also like that i have a scorpio rising.

I'm not really prejudiced towards scorpio males (hell, they're sexxxxy!!!) but i am a little prejudiced towards the females.

now i don't judge people just like that but me and my mum's friend (who happens to be scorpio) got talking one day and the next thing i knew, every single detail of that conversation was all over the place. also, she's a back biter..she's gossiped about my mum behind her back a lot.

But she's not a bad person really (my mum's friend). at her old age, she's still going STRONG and she's very caring too. I guess it's only those two things that spoil her. God..I'm never ever telling her anything again!

Blimey, you're obviously into this in a big way. I got very interested in it when I was young and a lot does seem to fit. I've forgotten most of it now but I do remember that all star signs have their good and bad sides. I believe the 'bad' side of Scorpio is that they can be manipulative and secretive but the good side is that they are good leaders, clever and intensely loyal. I am a
Leo, which is a very outgoing sign, good things being leadership, generosity etc, bad things being domineering or even bullying and they can be prone to exhibitionism and almighty sulks! I don't think there are any bad signs but I do love Sagittarians, who are mostly very outgoing and quite mad!
