Most of us, myself included, are guilty of believing things for fallacious reasoning. As we learn more and educate ourselves, SOME of us let go of our faulty beliefs and begin to accept facts based on logic and reason.

1) Because other people we trust believe it.

2) Because we have hope.

3) Because we want to.

There are many reasons we believe in something other than ourselves. Most reasons are not seen by others, and don't make sense to people that don't walk in our shoes. Unbelievers would say, that is was parenting background, or miss guided intelligence, or weavering mental stibility, But the fortunate thing is that believe can not be explained, it is understanding that you and you only can comprehend. Something in your soul that gives you comfort that your belief is correct. Other wise you would not believe in any thing that couldn't be proven.

The one true god of all religions is the perfect FATHER. Heaven is the perfect childhood with no responsibilities. As animals it is instinctive to trust and obey our parents, especially fathers. Religious leaders are taking advantage of this instinct to get their immature followers to obey without question.

Because what you believe in is where your faith lies. For example if you believe you are going to have a bad day, then your faith in that believe will bring about a bad day.

Because otherwise we'd be too indecisive to survive. You have to put some stock in what you've come to accept, otherwise you'd be afraid of every meal put before you, every person you meet, and every circumstance that arrived.

we drive 80MPH down the street and we believe that the officer will give us a ticket...and he trusts us to show up.....
