On Celebrity and RCL, I know for a fact that the employees get discounts as well as discounts for family and friends. I am pretty sure that the employees get a cruise for like $10 per night. (I think so.) The discount you get depends on your job though. Their families and friends get about half price. The cruise experience is the same as a full paying guest. Gratuities are also included in the bill before going on your cruise.
