I don't have a favorite. Each breed is bred for a specific task and so the "best" dog is the dog that is the best suited for that purpose. There are plenty of Golden Retrievers out there that you would not want to live with, especially since breeders are now intentionally breeding dogs that are super high-energy and have trouble settling down. It looks better in the show ring, but is a nightmare for dog owners.
I have a Border Collie and volunteer with Border Collie rescue. However there are a lot of Rat Terriers, Pomeranians, English Bulldogs, Great Danes and German Shepherds (to name a few) that I would take home in a heartbeat because those individual dogs are good dogs.
My favorite dog is the kind that a responsible breeder bred for health and temperament first and conformation second, and the owner has put in the time and commitment to train and socialize.

i always want to choose a good watch dog.it should be strong and at the same time agile.what i am talking about is a pug.who has that characteristics of being robust that made them look scary.one might see that a pug is very intimidating.the large mouth will help anyone realize how they are inside.pieces of craps!that hurts!well nobody want to be like that.it's a good thing to have this little pug at home.aside from having a good statistics as a guard dog it could be very friendly to those whom they feel not a treat.aside from that it has fairly good characteristics with other dog around.
another good thing about the pugs is on how to take care on them.grooming is not a problem.a wash, dry and wear skin is easy to take care of.its size make them good to handle.then think how large their appetite is.quite large but not that much.tolerable for the budget of an average earner individuals.
pugs are the best dogs for me.it has all the characteristics
that struck me most about dogs.the best thing i would say about them is their appearance.the wrinkled face is very remarkable that everyone can't distinguish how old they are.they always look old as what we can see but they always feel young as they move.you'll love to having them at home.

Basset Hound without a doubt. Fun, good natured dogs. Love kids and most people. Can be active but also love to lay around doing nothing.

Bichon frise. They don't shed, need minimal exercise (and grooming if their coats are cut short regularly), and are friendly and loving. They're small and therefore need little food, saving on food bills. I also love goldens and Labs and german shepherds and greyhounds and pit bulls, but Bichons are definitely my very favorite.

I have a blonde cocker spaniel named "Peaches". We are such a push over for the "sad puppy eyes". She is treated more like my 3rd kid than a dog:)
