Well if there are lucky enough to be found alive they get sent home. And once they are home the very next day someone from child protective services will be visiting your home. They will question your parents like they are not doing a good job and ask you if you are happy do they beat you or sexually abuse you in anyway. From that interview they will determine weather or not your parents are fit to keep you.
Most children run away for attention. There are not getting it at home and want to seek it else where, from a guy, a group of friend or just by having there parents worry. I hope you are not considering it because it is not all it is cracked up to be. I have ran away as a teen and it was not a good move for me. My mother never trusted me after that and I was never left alone cause they thought I would leave again.
If it is something that you have been thinking about nobody will be able to really change your mind. You already know if you want to run away you just need someone to valid it for you. To tell you that you will be fine and have lots of fun. But that is never the case. Being hungry and having no clean clothes if you have any at all, sleeping in someones house you dont trust if you get a house to sleep in. Sleeping in the street is not better trust me.

It's not illegal to run away.
If you run away, run somewhere safe. A church, a trustworthy friend, other family member, etc. DO NOT GO SOMEWHERE YOU DO NOT KNOW, OR WITH SOMEONE YOU DO NOT TRUST. DO NOT STAY ON THE STREET.
The police WILL NOT force you into a home you do not want to be in after the age of 12. I've had the police called on me 3 times because I ran away, and absolutely nothing happened. I was with safe, caring adults, and you know what? Police have better things to do than take you away from caring people if you have a valid reason for being there. Running away is only a good idea if there is a serious home problem (Namely, abuse) you cannot solve by yourself.

Most of them get sent home if they're caught. A few go to foster care if the home life is bad. Juvenile detention is for those who have not been able to stay out of trouble (usually before they runaway.

Some in up homeless. Some end up dead.It depends on your state and your parents where you end up if you get home alive. It is to dangerous today to do something like that.If you feel like running away, talk with an adult that you trust and work on your problems.Nothing gets solved by running away.
