Nope

Not everywhere in US.

There are many illegal immigrants in jail all across the country who never get turned over to Immigration for deportation. They just get released at end of jail sentence to commit crimes again, like my husband will. Yes, some people get a license or an extra chance to kill...

Google it and see how many illegals are currently in jail in the US. It will shock you because the cost of jails and dentention are expensive. The deportation should happen after the trial, not after jail time is over! Also, the illegals are not just Mexican. Too many immigrants from other places also overstay visitor, work and student visas. There is only 90 days to find a new employer, new school or leave the country. No one does, they just try to find US citizens to marry and ruin! There is no way to control this without a monthly or weekly check of every single immigrant. And that is not gonna happen...

The argument that's going on over this...is between federal and state/local governments. The feds are claiming that the state isn't supposed to be doing THEIR job...so...it's highly controversial for now, for apartment complex owners to refuse an illegal...OR for a police officer to take steps to deport someone due to their status etc... no matter what they've done. The problem is...how often do the feds even TRY to do something about it in your area? In mine...I haven't seen jack. If the state and local governments have their hands tied...illegals can pretty much do anything you can do...with free medical and educational benefits.

It depends on the state. Some States are allowed to apprehend the illegal immigrant and take them into custody. From there, they have a different team that processes the illegals to deport them. They are called the Deportation Team, I think...or Deportation something....

With the current backlash against illegal immigration, some local policemen are asking drivers and their passengers for their immigration documents. The local advocacy groups have a field day with incidents like this, but the people eventually get deported anyway.

That is an excellent question, unfortunately local law enforcement is discouraged from getting involved in immigration issues. So the answer, sadly, is no.
Ideally, anyone found to be here illegally should be immediately deported.

This is a totally different department. They will just give you a a citation and a ticket and let you go. they wouldnt even know that you are illegal. Just pay your ticket and you will be Ok.
But if you didnt pay the ticket and it is past due, then you got pulled over again, they might arrest you, then you will have to worry.
Good luck

It may depend on the state. I believe in Massachusetts they are doing that because it's become a big problem with illegal immigrants driving without a license and causing accidents or committing driving offenses such as speeding.

No, the police don't. In some cities, (Houston, for one) they don't even get a ticket because there is no record of them and they don't show up for court. They drive around in un-inspected vehicles without licenses or insurance. Try doing that yourself as a legal resident or citizen.

Specific municipalities and states have decided not to have their police report illegals to the Immigration People. They are known as illegal havens such as New York City and all of New Jersey.
