I wanna watch vids on quicktime on my mac but it needs plug ins so I dowloaded XViD stuff but it doesnt work...plz fellow yahooigans..help this girl out.

Are you certain the videos in Xvid format? (DivX is another, different codec similar to Xvid.)

If you're trying to play Windows Media videos (.wmv), you'll need Flip4Mac.

If you're still having a hard time determining which encoding the videos are in, try downloading VLC. It'll play just about any media file like that.

You didn't mention where you found the vids or what format they are. I can guess you found some vids compressed in XViD. That is a compression format for Windows only. You won't find anything from XVid that will install on a Mac. It is a shame that there are so many video methods used nowadays. I only hope in the near future we can just narrow it down to a dozen good formats.

In the meantime, try Perian. It has made a reputation for successfully wrestling with the XVid format. Link below.
