I LOVE Elijah!
He had such miraculous faith as to call the very fire out of heaven - yet when people were bent on hurting him - he became afraid and ran away... God still found him and ministered to where he was at.
It reminds me that - when I go from being really strong to really weak... that even the Biblical greats were human too. God will be patient with me, lift me up, protect me and help me to be strong once again - if I just keep trusting HIM. It gives me hope that God still put up with him... so I know He'll still put up with me too.
Peace.

I appreciate Mary the sister of Martha and Lazarus. She was one who sat at the feet of the Lord, paying attention to His words. Through her listening she was able to be the only one to anoint the Lord before His actual death. The Lord kept telling the disciples that He will die and that after three days He will rise again. Yet for some reason this went right over the brother's heads. Only Mary truly heard the Lord and stole the opportunity to anoint Him by breaking her precious alabaster box with the expensive Nard to anoint His head and she also washed His feet with her tears while drying it with her hair.
She wasted all her greatest treasures on this One of Peerless Worth.
As such when all the other sisters rose up three days after His death to go to anoint the Lord's body He was NOT there.. this mary also further listened when the Lord said He will RISE again after three days. She was the first to see the Lord fresh out of resurrection, even before He ascended to be the Wave Offering to the Father. Wow.. such a sister.
Shows us that no matter what kind of past we have we can be those who sit at the Lord's feet and love Him with all that we are and have. He is our First and best Love forever.
praise His Name for so many wonderful patterns in the whole bible to encourage us daily.
Hallelujah!

I'd say Job. I don't think God totally turns his back on us, but gives us space. It then involves choices which mold us, make us, or break us. We can always be used by God, for experience is the greatest teacher. At times we turn away from God and think he isn't listening. He works in mysterious ways that we will benefit from even if it is beyond or comprehension, that's why he's God.

Definately, Mary of Magdalene., who was protected by Jesus, from being stoned in the'public square' for adultry. This same woman after recieving Jesus' forgiveness, found Him at the 'upper room' & annointed Him with her tears and costly perfume. I love what Jesus said to Peter, reguardig her 'act of worship'. He said, "Those who have been forgiven much, will love much". That's the truth. I really enjoyed reading Warrior Bride's response, however I was already gonna' say 'that Mary', before I did.

Shouldn't it the one who inspired the Bible to be written in the first place? That is Jehovah, the Most High. Ps. 83:18

i'm with you. paul's the man. he's my favorite, for multiple reasons. how many times did they try to kill that guy, and they just couldn't do it? he had some of the wisest and most inspiring things in all the bible to say. most of my favorite passages were written by either paul or solomon. second to Jesus, paul's my hero.

I like Jacob, the most flexible man in the bible. He tied his *** to a tree and walked three days into the wilderness.
