And if he didn't?

What if he just created you, but offers you nothing, good or bad? What if he isn't judging you, or sending you to Hell or Heaven, but you just live your life here in Earth, and then you die, and that's it? Would you still worship him?

If your answer is no, then you're worshipping him because you want something from him, not because you love him.

Honestly, I feel that God is my constant friend and companion so if everlasting life was taken out the equation then yes I'd still believe and worship.

Why do I worship? (I'm probably not in the right mood to answer this well but I'll try) Because I don't think being human is all it's cracked up to be. I think animals and plants have it made (they don't worry about anything). If humanity is the highest level and there isn't anything else then send me back to live with the cavemen because modern life sucks.

Belief in God gives me hope that there are a few more rungs up the "evolutionary" (for lack of a better word) latter.

Honest answer which will probably make some think I'm insane (which isn't far from their view on most religious people so it will be just a different shade of insanity--a fuscia maybe instead of a dull red).

I would still worship God if there was no eternal life, or eternal punishment--because He is worthy of that worship (if for no other reason). I am not really motivated by fear or reward here.

I worship and love God for 2 main reasons:
1. He first loved us so much that He came to Earth, died as the penalty for my sins, just so that I could be in communion with my creator after I have died. Obviously, since He is sovereign, He didn't have to do that, but He did anyway because He loves us all.
2. He is my creator and He formed me out of nothing, therefore I acknowledge my need for Him. In addition, He directs my steps so that I live my life in accordance of what He knows is best, since He is the one who created me.

So to answer your question, yes we are given eternal life for serving God. His expression of love and sacrifice to us is enough to demand a reaction. We can acknowledge what He has done and then accept it or reject it, it is still our choice. He does not make anyone love Him, because love cannot be coerced, otherwise it is not real love. Lastly, because I am aware that He is my source and creator, that also causes me to step back and realize that He will know what is best for me.

I will never be able to love Him as much as He loves me, His love surpasses anything we are capable of even comprehending, but I live my life seeking Him and growing more and more in my relationship with Him.

I don't....

But then
... An all-benevolant god wouldn't demand worship...
.. An all-powerful god wouldn't need worship...
. An all-forgiving god would forgive me for not worshipping...

So essentially.... even if there were such a god I wouldn't bother worshipping him anyway.

As Lao Tsu taught me:
The best kind of ruler is one of which the people are barely aware.
The next is one whom they love and adore.
The next is one whom they fear.
The next is one whom they hate and defy.

You need only concern yourself with the first two lines to understand what I'm getting at.

Why would an intelligent life form go to all this trouble for no reason? I worship God partly for the coming life but also because it makes this one bearable.

My subject is that JWs declare in writing which would be shown, that Jehovah/Yahweh has positioned His words of their mouths; communicates by using angels and those communications finally end up in print on the pages of WT literature. the topic is the WT hasn't gotten any of it is end of the worldwide predictions genuine by way of fact it! commencing up interior the 1800's. interior the September 15, 2013 WT, the "fact" has been replaced lower back. This time a substantial exchange. The "fact" the sunshine regrettably has long previous out for JW's. subsequently, I doubt very heavily that the remark made grew to become into by skill of a known Greek student.

I worship god because it is a matter of justice.

Justice is giving to another what is due the other because of the character they have and are. God is due worship.

Why do so many non-believers seem to have nothing better to do than try to bait Christians? That, I don't understand.

But to answer your question, I love God because He created us, He cares so much about us, and He loves us so much He sent His Son to die, to forgive us for our sins, even though we didn't deserve it. He blesses us with so much, how could someone not be thankful to Him and praise Him.

Because he has GIVEN me life, life wonderful and full of joy. Oh i have my down days, lots of them in fact. But I also know My God is there with me every step of the way. i may not like where he leads me sometimes, but I can look back and see so clearly that he know the right path.
