I used to blame God for all of my problems, then I realized that that wasn't healthy, now as an Atheist all of my problems are my own and It's much better that way.

All my life I have taken the blame of the mistakes that I made, never blaming any body else for them. Often I had to be the owner of the mistakes of others, just to save them. I will never blame others for my problems.
And now I am at a position where even if others make problems or mistakes, the blame is on to me....I am the head of my family.

I do both. There are times when I am grounded enough that I can look at myself objectively and own who I am. There are other times when I am just feeeling raw and hurt and I want to blame someone or something. The key is to realize that blaming only keeps you stuck and powerless to change anything. Thank you for asking this.

Anything bad that I have ever encountered I have been directly responsible for. Even the time I was mugged in Alabama. I knew better than to be alone after dark on the city streets, I knew I was in a bad part of town, yet I went there anyway. It was entirely my choice to be in that situation, but that doesn't mean that I didn't bring charges against the person who robbed me. After all, he chose a life of crime.

I apply this to all aspects of my life, and I learned it mainly through experience. Our lives are the sum total of all the choices we make, and what we get out of it depends almost exclusively on the decisions made.

Greetings,

Actually I would prefer to take the responsibility of whats going on in my life wrong or right, because it takes my life out of the hands of another and gives me control of myself and my actions. Blame is just a deflection.

Great Question!!!!

Great question. I take ownership absolutely. I also stay only in the company of others who do the same.

If I know I caused the problem then I'll take the blame.

As a Buddhist, anything outside of looking to the right source (i.e. my own actions) is illogical when it comes to perceived karma. While there is a concept called "collective karma" that can be worked with too.

Ultimately, the final blame rests on my shoulders.

My problems are my own. I can share them with friends and family, and they can share theirs with me. But in the end, we're all responsible for ourselves.
