Its usually very difficult to measure. You can try asking every customer where they heard about you and then review the statistics. But people may forget, or hear about you different ways.
You can do a customer survey and ask them if they saw your advertising and what effect it had on them. But again, the results aren't "scientific" evidence.
You could ask this question of your advertising agency or radio station or newspaper. They have ideas...
If you buy a big Yellow Page ad, they will sometimes give you a unique phone number to see how many people call per month. That's one way to measure, but then you end up with several phone numbers...
When you are considering an advertisement, ask how many people will see the ad. Then think " how significant will the impression be". The weigh that against the cost.
