If you "dunno" and are still looking to other people for guidance, then you're probably not ready. I'm not saying that the best way to date is to ignore other people's opinions, but you have to have a certain level of confidence in your own decisions, or your relationships will be really vulnerable to pressure.

I think it depends on what you mean by "dating." Do you mean supervised outings to age appropriate activities, and holding hands and calling each other "boyfriend/girlfriend" or do you mean like, getting dropped off somewhere where you two are unsupervised. Or worse...some older guy trying to take you somewhere. If it's the first scenario, I say go for it; I know a couple that I went to school with who have been "going together" since like, fourth grade, and they're still together now, at age 21. But I can guarantee you that they didn't go on any one-on-one dates until whichever one got their drivers' license. You're definitely too young to be going on car dates or whatever.

12 is way too young. You should at least wait until 16 or so. The earlier you start dating that longer you will have to put up with all of the foolishness that comes from dating.

Ok I can answer this very easy, when your 12 i dont think you are emtionally mature enough to handle dateing, why? guys put alot of stress on girls to put out as they say and at 12 your not even close to ready t\for something like that but being new to 7th grade you are ready to hang out with boy,s even "go out as they say it means going steady but its really nothing more than maybe eating lunch together or ging to a movei with him and your friends,ok that aboutal you at 12 are ready for and if you break up and go out 15 different times with other boys or the same one its normal its how we learn what we like and how we like to be treated its also the learning ground about how to deal with situations like breaking up its best done face to face or if you have to im no letters or having friends to it! omg thats not good, ok well good luck hon you will need it and love this time in your life its one of the best!

i would say its too young. mostly because all the guys stupid and immature at your age and your gonna want to go out with someone older then you to make the maturity level between girls and guys even. But then you have to think what do older guys have on their minds that you may not like or be ready for? my younger sister is having the same problem and i keep telling her to wait, dating isnt as great as it is made out to be, and at your age your just starting to know what you like in the opposite sex. hold off for awhile and figure out what you want to find, and dont settle for some sleaze ball just so you can say your dating. hope ths helps good luc and be careful

IN my opinion you should wait... lets say your mom doesnt let you date then there's no relationship there you can't hang out because what would you thell your mom, talking on the phone you can't because your mom will know. SO waiting would be the best like when your 16. Your more mature and you probably know a little more about relationships!!

I think it is too young for someone to be picked up by a date and left unsupervised. But if you mean calling someone your boyfriend and talking to them on the phone or even holding hands, I think that is fine. I told my mom that my neighbor was my boyfriend when I was 3. It really depends on what you mean by "dating."
