Why do you feel you have the right to gain anything from this country if you hate it so much? That makes you a hypocrite.
Yes or No?

People please....speaking out against stupid politicians and laws are not what I am talking about. Quite frankly I wonder why we need any of the politicians. General hate for Americans be people who want American to be called, (their homeland's name).

It is amazing the number of you who ASSume I am for Bush just because I made a comment about the liberals. I am NOT loyal to either party. For the most part, both are a waste of good air. Our Presidency has long been a case of voting for the lesser of two evils. You all totally ignore a real change by not voting Independent on every ticket and for every position.
There is a HUGE difference at being angry at the way our pathetic government is run and HATING America. Those of you who commented this question would be better if in immigration, hit the nail on the head. I apologize for not putting it there.
There is definately a lot of angry people in this country and it really doesn't matter what party you claim to be supporting. We all might think it is global warming affecting our weather. NOT....its our founding fathers rolling over in their graves

Yes it makes you a hypocrite. but anti-Americans won't leave because this is a country that they prosper in and the many things they hate this country for also contribute to their prosperity.

First of all it's not that easy for people to just move... if you are a US citizen you can't just go live in whatever country you want.
Secondly, if it's someone's home, and where they grew up, they would probably rather stay, politics aside. You don't have to agree with everything the government does to call someplace "home". And I thought the point of democracy was that everyone gets a say- not just the ones who agree with everything the big boys tell them.
Disliking things and getting angry are GOOD things- this will instigate positive change. Americans so value their democracy, their freedom of speech etc- well you saying "if you don't like it, leave" is in total contradiction to these values. What you're saying is, it's Bush's way or the highway. Screw that. If you don't like what is going on in your home, you should speak up, and you should vote for change.
People like you make others afraid to speak up for fear of being lynched by the brainwashed patriots who refuse to ask questions about whether this country is going the right way. This is NOT what America is supposed to be about.

It does seem silly to have people who live here put down this country. But they also realize that if they do it anywhere else they would get shot dead. Just Google Tiananmen Square and you will see what I mean.
There was a story about some college punk who was standing on some steps outside a state capital building. He was holding an American flag in one hand and a match in the other. He was upset over something and was going to burn the American flag in protest. Nice waste of his parents money to send him to college, eh? Obviously he isn't learning anything. Anyway, the crowd that was gathered was split with one side supporting this genius and the other ready to lynch him. Well, there was a farmer in the crowd and he was having none of this flag BBQ. He left, went back to his truck, grabbed his shotgun and came back. He then pointed the shotgun at the kid and told him that if he took a match to the flag he was going to have his guts scattered all over those steps. The kid had an epiphany and decided it was a bad idea to burn the flag.
Gotta love America!
Anyway, if you think about it using your Rights to stand up for something is rather cowardly. You know you are protected by the law so nothing will happen to you. If you REALLY want to be a hero then stand up for something that is law and which you disagree. When risking jail and/or injury people will have more respect for you this way.
Just a thought.

I've never visited the US (what you call "America"), and have never met personally anyone from the US. Still I hate the US. Imagine if I lived there...
I started visiting yahoo! answers in English about 1 year ago. From my experience I can tell you that I dislike Americans more and more. Somedays I would give a shot in the head of an American if I saw one in the street.
Americans (well 75%) are ignorants, racists, arrogants (for reasons they shoudn't) and brainwashed.
Yes, I am anti-American and proud (lol).
Americans hate everybody else yet they get all sensitive when someone hates them.

I don't know anybody that hates "America". I know a lot of people who hate what our leaders are doing or certain aspects of our culture, i.e. consumerism. If you don't like to hear their complaints maybe YOU should move someplace where such complaining isn't allowed like Russia or North Korea.

No. First of all, I know very few Americans who "hate" America. I know many who would like to change America and are working towards that end. That is the nature of a democracy.
However, if I wanted to "hate" America, that would also be my right as guaranteed by the Constitution.
I guess my question to you is "Why do you 'hate' people who don't believe the things you believe?" And what have you done to make America a better place for all Americans?

If I collected a penny every time I hear or read that cliché, I would be a millionaire. Once again, the problem is the government, not the country.
The say US is a democracy.

Who are you directing this at, then? I have come across no-one on this site who seems to hate America, just it's policies and practices under the current administration.
You say this question is about people who hate America, but what you mean is you think that Liberals hate America. Thanks for drinking the Republican kool-aid...
Ken M: if you really believe that, you missed the whole point of what America is about. Did you spend your time in Civics class and in US History throwing spitballs and sleeping?
