There are sprays that keep cats and dogs off of the furniture, ask your vet which one is most effective. Is there a space you can keep them while you are gone where they can't do too much destruction?

Get a different cat sitter and sue the socks off that first one!

Now- cats, as long as they have food and clean litter boxes, usually don't need to be minded that much. So they should be okay while you work. About the only time that's different is if one has a medical condition.

Good luck!

You shouldn't need a sitter for cats. If they are clawing, teach them to claw only their scratching post by using a spray bottle to give them a spritz of water in the face when they claw the wrong thing. You can also keep a coffee can with a few pennies in it near you and whenever you see them clawing in the wrong place, shake it near them and they will run. It may take a few weeks, but they'll learn where the appropriate place is if you teach them this way.
And if you simply don't want to be bothered with teaching them, you can always get their front claws removed or keep them well trimmed.

Cats are very good at taking care of themselves. You didn't say why your cats need someone to watch them. I used to have 3 cats, and they did just fine when I'd go to work. All you need to do is to leave out food and water for them, and a litter box. The scoop kind of litter is fantastic! And they have each other, so they won't be lonely. By the way, each of my cats lived to be around 17 years old.

why don't you try one of those large cat climber toys covered in carpet and with holes, they must need toys or are bored maybe the climbing and searching in a large stand up toy would keep them happy at night, you could try hiding treats around the house at night as well and get them the little toy mice, stick them under some light throw rugs, that might tire them out. My cats sleep with me at night and stay up during the day you could also just keep them in your bedroom with you, you might lose a couple of nights sleep but it's better than having everything ripped up. Good luck really and truly.

Any family members close friends? maybe they might spare the time to look after your cat or if you trust your neighbours and if you have a cat flap maybe you can just ask them to keep an eye out for your cats and feed them thats what we did or maybe just leave some cat food around cats prefer to be alone hope this helps gd luck :-)

Cats are very independent and can spend long periods alone. I'm assuming you are home sometimes? Who cares for your young daughter when you are not home? Can they feed the cat for you when you aren't there?

If no one is ever home, I'd consider finding a new home for the cats.
