my famliy and I lost our cat about 2mo. ago and we just recently found him a mile away from our house with this lady that gave him food twice a day and brought him inside the house and pretty much loved him for 2mo., and we brought him home right away and let him run around and explore and let him remember the place. He stayed for 2 days and then the lady who was watching him earlier call and said that he had come back !!! So please if anyone knows how to keep him around our house please tell me.

Let your cat know you still love him he probaly just forgot who you are just try spending time with him and acting like you did before maybe you might jog his memory cats are not loyal they just like who feeds them so please understand this if your cat still keeps going to the lady at least you will know its safe and healthy gd luck :)

I know this is not what you want to hear.
Without locking him inside, you may not be able to get him to stay. Cats are naturally wanderers and foragers. He has found another person who feeds him. If he is the least bit hungry or wants a change in diet, he will head there. Also, he has found someone else who cares for him. He will probably try to go there if he is outside.

Cats are instinctively caring creatures and will select a person to care for them. It may be that the person is lonely or ill. The cat may want to be with that person.

You may have to make a decision: What is the best for the cat? Do you force him to stay with you by locking him in the house or do you let him go where he wants (it may be stay with you or it may be leave and go to the lady). Does he have to cross roads to get to the lady? If so, the best action may be to let him stay there and visit him. That way, you won't have to worry about him getting hit by a car.

eventually he will try to walk back to the old house and get hit by a car, killed by a dog, poisoned by a neighbour, stollen by some sicko's

there is nothing wrong with locking him in the house...cats become bonded to places - not people..

build a cat section next to your house so he can go out there - use a window for access for him - and have a gate on one end so you can enter if needed.. use 2x4's and chicken wire..

otherwise keep him inside for at least 2 months to allow him to establish that this is his new home.. ideally keep him in all the time.. indoor cats live longer.

Thats a tough one sounds like he thinks he has a new owner. Your are going to have to keep the cat in the house or give him up to the other women, if she wants to keep him. You don't want the cat hurt going a mile from each home all the time.

About all you can do is keep him inside. If he MUST go out, you might try to construct a run with a roof on it so he can't climb out.

Good luck!
