He is a traitor, and people are fools who support him. The government turns a blind eye to other innocent people who have ebeen sentenced, but to a confirmed convict they go soft on him. Its a mcokery of the judiciary.

The lawyers had petitioned the court against his conviction and sought bail until that petition was ruled on. But they said they could not argue the case as they were yet to get a copy of the judgement of the Mumbai court.
A three-judge bench headed by the chief justice agreed and said that "the nature of the offence and the evidence is very difficult to examine at this stage", and granted bail to Dutt until the lawyers get a copy of the verdict.
An official at the Mumbai court said it could start delivering copies of the sentencing of the 100 people convicted in the case from September. Dutt was among the last of the 100 to be sentenced

He has been granted only interim bail till the time he gets the copy of judgment from the TADA court, that will be given to him next few days & after which he will be back in the jail. If he want to get regular bail till his appeal is decided by the Supreme Court he has to move another bail application. This is the legal position till now in his case.
