I am amazed by all of the posts on this site that protray the Lord God as a punishing God. The talk of fire and brimstone just makes me giggle. I don't know about other Christians out there, but I serve a loving and mercifully God. A wonderful God, I know that I sin every day, every in slight thought that might not pure, every word that slips off my tongue that is foul, or every time I get angered in traffic, all sins. However I know that when I pray I ask for forgiveness, he forgives washes the slate clean and I try to do better tomorrow. That's the God I serve. Who is this God that some like to speak about on this website? I really can honestly say I don't this God. What are your thoughts?

Those that speak of the a vengeful God are speaking about a God that doesn't mess around. If we disobey him like our earthly fathers he's gonna get ticked off. I am not saying to mistake his mercy for weakness. Serve him and you will see his kindness and glory. Disobey him, break his commandments, worship false Gods and you will see his wrath. Worship him and you will see his mercy. That's the point.

I agree with you and my God is your God. What people don't realize, that when you walk with God, you have no fear of Hell. Those that tell people to repent or you will burn in hell, do so because they feel they have no other way to get some people to understand what it is to love God. That's not the way to go. You hit it right on the head! Tell people how loving and forgiving our God is; don't tell them He is a destructive God! All I've seen in my life is a good, fair, loving, giving God! Bless you for your question!!

Some men and women simply do not do touchy and refined - it is wasted on them! There particularly are occasions whilst a few men and women have got to be shaken very rough and shouted at (spiritually talking, that's.) The problem is, Christians can not learn hearts, and we might make a terrible mistake and spiritually shout on the fallacious character, or on the fallacious time. Jesus not ever made that mistake on account that He might learn hearts. Yet the comforting truth is if we "talk the reality in love" and we are constantly equipped to deliver a rationale for the wish in us, doing so with admire, (because the Bible instructs) then the Holy Spirit will practice the reality to the man or woman involved. Perhaps the truly drawback at present is that many Christians cross all circular the residences as a substitute of declaring the gospel immediately and realistic. There is any such peally-wally variation of 'the gospel' that's particularly no gospel in any respect - it'll gain no religious well for any one. To name sin sin, to claim the principal want for repentance, to warn of the everlasting lostness of individuals who pay no heed to both, to insist that best religion in Christ will store any person - that's like going for the jugular. Yet it's 'best' the gospel! Why are so few Christians telling it adore it is? Why are they tiptoeing across the outer edge at all times? Give me force! Give me the historical, historical tale! Give me the grace of God to proclaim liberty to the captives, and cross me a battering-ram at the same time you are at it!

I am not sure about other people but as it says in 1Corinthians 8:6 Yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live. I believe there is one God and that he is merciful. It is written in Matthew 5:7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. And that is the God (the only God that there is) that I serve and love.

The deep south redneck trash hicks can't sell a positive loving God, because that would reign in on their parade. They channel all of their racist "south was right" b.s. into their belief in an angry god to build themselves up. That's not the god I believe in either.

I serve the same God you do. He is my Father in Heaven and He loves me and wants me to be happy.

Then why is God described, in the Bible, as vengeful and, at some times, so "full of wrath," that he kills entire cities, large sections of his "Chosen People," and sometimes all the people on Earth, save a dozen? Why do you get to pick God's attributes that you like and ignore the rest?

And if God is so loving, how come I'm stuck at work again today?

Isn't your willingness to make your god what you want it to be, a tacit admission that he's a fictional character?

If there is a real god, it is what it is, regardless of what you want it to be.

Why don't you stop sinning for a change? Soon, you'll find that you can stand on your own two feet.
Isn't it absurd to sin everyday just because you have a religion?
