My father has two diffrent AR15 that have bayonett lugs on them but bayonetts dont fit on them what is the point. On his AR15 pistol the lug is maybee 2 inches away from the barrel do they make somthing else that can go one there. On his carbine the barrel is too long for the bayonett. You would think that these companies would only put these lugs on weapons with the proper barrel legnths to fit a bayonett.

Bayonet? Only use for one of those is to open metal cans when you can't find a can opener. In the service that is what we used them for. Lugs are a leftover from a bygone day of dinosaurs. I have some Mausers and Arisakas that have bayonets with them; makes them ideal for pole vaulting. The left wing wimpies claim that a bayonet lug exists only to serve satan; never could figure that one out myself.

Right off the bat you should think..Why would I put a Bayonet on a "Pistol". There really would be no point in having one on it in the first place. As far as the Carbine goes, the barrels are usually a few inches longer in front of the front sight base so the distance would make mounting a Bayonet impractical too. In order for the bayonet to stay centered on the rifle, the ring topped tang on the bayonet must fit right over top of the flash hider. If the distance from the tang to the actual latch is longer or shorter than the issue bayonet, it just won't fit. Most companies that make AR15 clones only but bayonet lugs on their rifles for asthetic's anyway, not to be used. Years ago lawmakers used the bayonet lugs on AR-15's and SKS's as a reason to get them put them on the assault rifle ban list, because a bayonet could be attached in the first place. They don't do anytrhing to improve the gun anyway.

Nancy Pelosi wants to outlaw all weapons with bayonet lugs.

I guess they must have intellegence (?) in Washington that there is going to be a big wave of bayonet crimes.

Thank the Lord we have leaders like "Nasty Nancy" looking out for my best interest!

To answer your question: Bayonets come in different sizes for different guns. You have the wrong size bayonet.

You can get a bayonet lug adapter from cheaperthandirt.com.

Just saw one listed. I think the reason they make it impossible or difficult is because of assault weapons ban BS.
