I am going through some spiritual things right now, and emotional. It is mostly my significant other going through stuff, but I feel a lot of what he feels... My mother is a missionary to Peru, and she is fasting for the situation going on there. Last night while watching CBN, knowing that she knows people in Pisco and Lima, I feel compelled to do the same.
SO, this is day two of a no meat fast. I am really trying to go for 40 days.

I will not die! LOL! Water, coffee, tea, juice, vegetables-just NO MEAT. Basically going vegetarian for 40 days.

I believe fasting, like someone said, is abstaining...Taking authority over the flesh. For me, giving up meat IS a sacrifice, especially for 40 days.

Simply abstaining from meat is NOT fasting...it being a vegetarian.

If you really want to fast for 40 days, then eat or drink nothing during the daylight hours and eat at night.

I've know several people that fasted for 20 to 30 days, drinking only water and not eating the entire time. They were very weak afterward...

I have a hard time believing that any deity really cares about our eating (or dress, hair length for that matter) habits.

Eat anything you want but no meat? If that's the case then you're going veggie for the 40 days. Not difficult.

I have not but Jesus did it. Muslims do it for 30 in Ramadan. So all the Best, i think it has more to do with Abstianing from sins then simply not eating and drinking. Anyways, All the Best!

I really don't see how your hunger would in any way benefit God.
