I believe our God is an awesome God. I think that Christian rock is pretty good. It is the same music with a more positive message. It isn't the sound of the music that makes something Christian or not. It is simply the words. I think people are more concerned with what the music sounds like. People don't pay close enough attention to words anymore.

Example, James Blunt's song "Beautiful". I've heard so many call this a love song, but it's not. If you pay attention it's a guy that is depressed because he will never get the girl. That is depressing. Not someone making a loving song of devotion to a girlfriend.

I like Skillet, Pillar, and others. I will listen to anything if I can get into it and have no problem with the lyrics.

It's rather limited in scope, in my opinion. If someone were to put in a CD with Christian rock in it, you pretty much already know what the song is going to be about. And since I consider lyrical ingenuity to be one of the finer points of music, the sheer limitation drastically limits the entertainment value.

There was one particular Christian rock song I heard about 12 years ago that was basically thrash metal, with this guy screaming "I hate the devil, the devil hates me!" repeatedly in the background. I'm not much for thrash metal, but until then I never thought Christian rock could incorporate the term "hate" and not be hypocritical. I was soundly corrected.

I enjoy christian rock music, and if you are a christian then you probably enjoy it as well. It's about the message more than the actual music, but many of the artists have great music as well, such as Third Day, Casting Crowns and Mercy Me. No, there isn't hardcore rock, but it's still enjoyable.

I am selective when I listen to it, but you really have to listen to the words and messages to enjoy it. If you are a non-believer, it won't mean much. But if a believer of Jesus Christ, you go 'wow'! If you ever come across Don Francisco's "Got to tell Somebody" originally a vinyl album, listen to it. It's Great! "Too Small a Price" is one of the greatest Christian songs ever written. It's from the point of view of one who was crucified along with Jesus on the cross. Very powerful! BUT my golden oldies from the 60's and 70's, too, can never be beat!

My thoughts are that I am now going to have that songs stuck in my head for the rest of the day...

That particular song is pretty catchy but I have always disliked Christian rock music.

Christian Rock would be a good idea if their was far more orriginal music.

When nine bands all sing "Shout to the Lord", and all sound very similar, it's not going to blow anyone's mind after the first band does that song.

I don't think you buy the existence of God or the Devil, which makes sense.

there are some really good Christian rock bands, but most Christian bands are pretty lame though.

When Christian Record Labels form bands that follow trends, it's so cheap sounding...emo-christian glam rock?

Christian rock blows! I find nothing original in that genre. I prefer my satanic 80s new wave classics.

It's barely Christian and seldom rocks.
